Wayne Gretzky AAPEX 2025 keynote
Wayne Gretzky, known globally as the greatest hockey player of all time, will deliver the keynote at AAPEX 2025. The announcement was made by the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo, confirming Gretzky as the speaker for the Keynote Breakfast in Las Vegas.
The event takes place on Tuesday, November 4, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at The Venetian Hotel’s Palazzo Ballroom.

A Hall of Famer’s Mindset Meets a Changing Market
Gretzky’s keynote, titled “Getting into the Hall of Fame: What it Takes”, will highlight how he overcame bigger, faster, and stronger opponents by using strategy and intelligence. His core message will connect with leaders navigating the evolving $2.3 trillion automotive aftermarket.
He once said, “My strength was my mind.” This mindset helped him outthink the competition—and now, it offers guidance for businesses adapting to constant change.
Lessons the Automotive Industry Can Use
The aftermarket is changing quickly. Electric vehicles (EVs), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and remote diagnostics are shaking up the way companies operate.
According to Auto Care Association President Bill Hanvey, success today depends on ongoing education. “The pace of change means professional development matters more than ever,” he explained.
Paul McCarthy, President of MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers, put the shift in numbers. “There are 300 million vehicles on U.S. roads. Each one has about 45,000 parts,” he said. “That complexity ties the success of our industry directly to the economy.”
Gretzky’s Message Matches the Moment
Gretzky’s story highlights the value of focus, adaptation, and mental strength. These traits are essential in the modern aftermarket. His keynote goes beyond sports—it speaks to business leaders facing real-world pressure.
The decision to bring Gretzky to AAPEX reinforces the show’s leadership role. It also signals the event’s commitment to bringing inspiration alongside insight.
