Adrienne Maloof and Niecy Nash-Betts Extend Heartfelt Donation of Toys to Los Angeles Children’s Hospital

Spreading Joy: Celebrities Adrienne Maloof & Niecy Nash-Betts Brighten Spirits with Generous Toy Donation to Los Angeles Children’s Hospital

Upon walking up to Adrienne Maloof’s beautiful mansion in Los Angeles, you could literally feel, smell, and breathe in Christmas and all its wonders.

Maloof is best known for her standout role on the reality television show, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Not only was she a fan favorite, but she’s a staple from the OG crew (Seasons 1, 2, and 3). Beyond that, she’s a proud mother and serial entrepreneur, someone who continues to push the boundaries on what’s possible.

Immediately as you walk inside, you’re greeted with an enormous, beautifully decorated Christmas tree. One that reminds you that one of America’s most-loved and cherished holidays is upon us. Just on the other side of the tree was a display of moving puppets dressed as Santa Claus, all of which come from different ethnicities and backgrounds. To me, this represented unity, friendship, and cherishing the moment we have in front of us.

But beyond the glitz and glamour, it was the room full of brand new toys, all being donated to charities near and dear to Maloof’s heart. One is the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, a children’s hospital located in East Hollywood. The other is Amazing Grace Conservatory, whose mission is to train and develop emerging artists, as well as risk youth in the performing and digital arts.

In fact, Maloof gives back to the Children’s Hospital every year. She states, “It’s wonderful to have parties, but really it means something when you know you’re doing good for someone else. Children’s Hospital is amazing. I have so many close friends that have had people that couldn’t afford — they literally pick up the bill for sick children.

When asked what the best Christmas gift she’s ever given is, Maloof answers: “I know it’s syrupy, but it’s true. Giving to a charity that really needs your help. When they really need it, they need it. That’s a great gift to give.”

The event was in conjunction with Maloof’s good friend, Niecy Nash-Betts, an Emmy-award winning actress. And while it was technically a holiday party, this was what Maloof called #PartyWithAPurpose, directly in line with our theme: the Power of Giving.

Nash-Betts, who was enjoying herself and dancing throughout the evening, agreed fully.

She states, “Listen, a good cause is what it’s all about. We’re supporting Children’s Hospital. We’re supporting Amazing Grace Conservatory, which is a performing art school for children in the inner city. It’s a party with a purpose.”

When asked what the Power of Giving means to her, Nash-Betts answered: “It means using your platform, using your purpose, Being intentional about paying things forward.”

While guests were welcomed with open bar, a delicious spread of food, and even a s’mores station, it’s important to remember what it means to pay it forward. Think of the amount of kids around the world who don’t have family members to feed or support them. Think of the kids who won’t be getting presents this year, that in itself should serve as a reminder to share your blessings with those who are less fortunate.

Each year, we’re blessed with the luxury of taking time off work, reuniting with loved ones, and celebrating the birth of Jesus. But that doesn’t take away from the Power of Giving. There’s no physical present or monetary thing that comes to mind, it’s simply the act of wanting to help someone else that may be struggling. It could be giving a stranger a hug or getting the homeless man a sandwich at the store, or even just praying for someone. The Power of Giving is truly limitless, and that’s the beauty of this holiday.

The evening included a heartwarming performance by the children’s choir at Amazing Grace Conservatory, as well as a performance from Niecy’s partner Jessica Betts. Celebrity sightings include Stevie Wonder, Johnny Gill, Metta World Peace (Ron Artest), Jeannie Mae, MAJOR., Kym Whitley, Lala Milan, DJ Paul, and more.
