Full Closure Between Tropicana Avenue and Flamingo Road
Motorists in southwest Las Vegas should prepare for a full CC-215 Beltway closure. The shutdown will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 16, and continue through Saturday, May 17. Both directions of the Beltway will be closed between Tropicana Avenue and Flamingo Road.
Crews will work on the new Peace Way bridge over the freeway. The full closure is needed to ensure the work is completed safely and on time, with the CC-215 Beltway temporarily closed no more than 24 hours, depending on construction progress.
Lane Reductions Begin Before the Closure Area
Southbound traffic will start narrowing near Town Center Drive. CC-215 Beltway northbound lanes will reduce starting near Sunset Road. Drivers in the area should expect slowdowns and delays.
Clark County urges motorists to plan ahead. Use alternate routes and avoid the area if possible during this brief but major construction effort.
Use Fort Apache Road as the Recommended Detour
To bypass the CC-215 closure, Clark County recommends using Fort Apache Road as the main detour route. If heading north, enter the Beltway at Flamingo Road. If heading south, access it again at Tropicana Avenue.
Drivers should check navigation apps like Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps for real-time updates. CC-215 Beltway traffic conditions may shift depending on the pace of construction and weekend traffic.
Peace Way Project Includes Major Road Improvements
The Peace Way bridge is part of a larger $19.8 million Clark County project. It includes full road rehabilitation on Peace Way between Hualapai Way and Cimarron Road. New curbs, gutters, and sidewalks will also be added along the route.
Crews are building a new traffic signal at the intersection of Hualapai Way and Peace Way. CC-215 Beltway related project also connects Peace Way across the Beltway between Fort Apache Road and Chessie Court.
This project began in June 2024 and is scheduled for completion in summer 2025. The goal is to improve safety, access, and traffic flow in one of the valley’s busiest areas.
24-Hour Lane Restrictions Remain in Place on Peace Way
In addition to the Beltway work, there are ongoing lane restrictions on Peace Way. One lane remains open in each direction around the clock. Work typically runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Motorists should expect delays during peak hours and plan alternate routes when possible. Always use caution when driving through active construction zones.
