Long-term agreement supports children and families in Southern Nevada
LAS VEGAS, NV — Clark County has taken a major step to support vulnerable children and families by partnering with Olive Crest to launch a new community campus in Southern Nevada. The agreement includes a 25-year lease, with a renewal option, granting Olive Crest use of the property at 4233 N. Rancho Drive.
As a result, the site will become a dedicated campus focused on prevention, support and long-term stability for families in need. The project also reflects strong collaboration across local partners, including key support from University Medical Center.
A campus built for support and stability
The new Olive Crest campus will serve as a central hub for services that help families stay together and keep children safe. At the heart of the site will be a Children and Family Resource Center. This center will offer counseling, education and support programs designed to prevent child abuse and reduce family crises.
In addition, Olive Crest plans to renovate the existing building while also expanding the site. The organization will build 16 apartments behind the main facility. These units will provide housing for teens and young adults who have aged out of the child welfare system.
Therefore, the campus will not only respond to immediate needs but also support long-term independence for young people transitioning into adulthood.
Community partnership drives the project
Clark County’s decision to provide the property highlights a shared commitment to community care. Leaders across the region continue to focus on solutions that protect children and strengthen families.
Jimmy Monaghan, Executive Director of Olive Crest in Nevada, emphasized the impact of the partnership. He described the agreement as a powerful step toward creating lasting change for children in crisis.
At the same time, Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick reinforced the importance of the initiative. She noted that protecting children remains a top priority and that the partnership reflects meaningful action to support families in need.
Moreover, University Medical Center played a key role in shaping the project. Its guidance helped ensure the partnership moved forward smoothly and effectively.
Part of a broader community mission
The campus will serve as a cornerstone of Olive Crest’s “Vegas Cares About Kids” campaign. This initiative focuses on preventing children from entering the welfare system by addressing challenges early.
Through this effort, Olive Crest works to provide families with tools, support and resources before crises escalate. The new campus will expand that mission and increase access to critical services across Southern Nevada.
Furthermore, the long-term lease allows Olive Crest to invest in infrastructure, staffing and programming with confidence. This stability ensures the campus can grow and adapt to community needs over time.
A long-term vision for impact
Olive Crest has built a strong track record since its founding in 1973. The organization has supported nearly 300,000 children and families, while maintaining a 98% stability rate across its programs.
Today, Olive Crest serves approximately 5,000 children and families each day across the western United States. Its approach focuses on safe housing, education and counseling, all designed to strengthen family units.
With this new campus, Olive Crest continues to expand its reach in Southern Nevada. The project aims to create a space where healing, growth and stability can take place for years to come.
As construction and planning move forward, community leaders expect the campus to become a vital resource. It will support both immediate needs and long-term success for families across the region.
