Families across the valley faced difficult choices in 2025. Rent increases, job loss, medical emergencies, and unexpected expenses pushed many households to the brink. During those moments, HELP of Southern Nevada provided stability, guidance, and practical solutions that kept families together and supported long-term recovery.
Leadership Focused on Impact and Accountability
Strong leadership continued to guide the organization’s mission throughout 2025. Fuilala Riley, president and chief executive officer of HELP of Southern Nevada, led efforts to expand services while maintaining dignity, accountability, and transparency across all programs. Her leadership focused on collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and strong community partnerships as demand for services increased.
Executive staff members played a critical role in turning that vision into action. Shelly Torres, chief financial officer, ensured financial stability and responsible stewardship of resources. Abby Quinn, chief community relations officer and head of fund development, strengthened community partnerships and donor engagement that supported direct services. Denise Gee, chief workforce officer, guided employment and training programs that helped families move toward long-term self-sufficiency.
Together, the executive team provided strategic direction and operational leadership. Their combined efforts reflect a clear understanding of how HELP of Southern Nevada helps local families not only during moments of crisis, but also through sustained, long-term support.

Behind every program is a large group of dedicated professionals. Case managers work directly with parents to assess needs and create personalized plans. Housing specialists help families navigate complex systems to avoid eviction and homelessness. Behavioral health clinicians provide counseling and emotional support during times of stress and trauma.
Workforce counselors assist clients with job readiness, employment placement, and skill development. Outreach teams connect with individuals who may not know where to turn. Warehouse and operations staff manage donations and supplies that reach families throughout the community. Administrative teams ensure services remain accessible and efficient.
