A violent new Western is in production, and it’s rewriting the rules of revenge.
Cowboy Bloodbath stars Douglas Vermeeren and John Ozuna. Filming began in Sacramento, California, and continues through August in Victoria, British Columbia. Directed by Rene Perez, this action-packed feature blends intense gunplay, practical effects, and brutal showdowns.
A rescue sparks unrelenting vengeance
The story opens with a retired bounty hunter found hanging from a tree. Moments before death, he’s cut down by Sarah, played by Kirsten Normand. She’s fleeing a ruthless cattle baron who slaughtered her family. Out of options, she gives the cowboy a gun and begs for help.
That decision lights the fuse.
Ruthless action, no mercy
Critics have compared this film to John Wick in the West. Unlike traditional Westerns, this story doesn’t slow down. Every scene drives forward with tension and fury. Ozuna adds menace in his role as the villain, while Normand anchors the chaos with strong emotional depth.
Because of the cast’s intensity and Perez’s vision, the film promises something visceral and new.
Final phase of filming
Production started in California and enters its final days in Canada. A teaser trailer will release this fall. Although distribution is still being finalized, early interest from genre platforms is growing.
Meanwhile, the team continues to refine key scenes. Their goal is to create a Western that defies expectations.
Cowboy Bloodbath is coming
This is not a calm ride. It’s an explosion of violence from the first shot to the last breath. Cowboy Bloodbath is coming.
