Discover Authentic French Pastries in Downtown Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — Downtown Las Vegas has welcomed another locally owned business with an international touch. French Riviera Tropézienne Bakery has officially opened its newest location at 401 Sixth Street, bringing handcrafted French pastries, artisan breads and premium coffee to the heart of the city.

Just Now News attended the grand opening, where founder Frank Khalifa personally guided guests through the beautiful new bakery and shared the vision behind the expanding family business. During the tour, Khalifa highlighted the bakery’s commitment to authentic French baking traditions while offering a preview of what customers can expect when the new bistro opens later this September.

The newest location continues the company’s mission of bringing the flavors of southern France to Southern Nevada through fresh ingredients, traditional recipes and welcoming hospitality.

A bakery inspired by the French Riviera

French Riviera Tropézienne Bakery traces its roots to one iconic pastry: the Tarte Tropézienne. Originally created in Saint-Tropez, the pastry features a soft brioche filled with rich vanilla cream and has become the bakery’s signature item.

However, the menu extends well beyond one specialty.

Visitors will find buttery croissants, pain au chocolat, fresh baguettes, fruit tarts, macarons, mille-feuille and rustic fougasse prepared throughout the day. Instead of baking everything before sunrise, the bakery produces smaller batches to ensure customers receive fresh pastries and bread from opening until closing.

That philosophy reflects everyday life along France’s Côte d’Azur, where fresh bread remains an essential part of daily life.

Grand opening showcases authentic craftsmanship

During the grand opening celebration, guests had the opportunity to sample several bakery favorites while touring the modern downtown location.

The pastry display immediately captured attention with colorful desserts, delicate pastries and beautifully crafted French classics. Meanwhile, the aroma of freshly baked bread and espresso welcomed visitors as they entered the boutique.

Just Now News also sampled pastries and coffee offerings during the visit. The pastries were light, buttery and exceptionally fresh. Likewise, the coffee provided the perfect complement, creating an experience that felt more like a neighborhood café in southern France than a traditional bakery in Las Vegas.

Khalifa explained that authenticity remains the driving force behind every item produced by the bakery. High-quality butter, carefully selected ingredients and traditional preparation methods continue to define every product leaving the kitchen.

Growing alongside the Las Vegas community

The downtown boutique marks the company’s third location in the Las Vegas Valley.

The bakery first opened in Henderson before expanding to South Cimarron Road. As demand continued to grow, downtown Las Vegas became the next natural step for the family-owned business.

The expansion reflects the increasing appetite for authentic European bakeries throughout Southern Nevada. More residents are seeking handcrafted products prepared using traditional methods rather than mass-produced alternatives.

French Riviera Tropézienne Bakery has built a loyal following among both locals and visitors looking for genuine French flavors.

Bistro opening this fall

Although the bakery is already welcoming customers, another exciting addition is just around the corner.

Construction continues on Le Bistro, which is scheduled to open in September. The new dining space will expand the concept beyond breakfast and pastries by introducing dinner service in a relaxed French-inspired atmosphere.

According to Khalifa, the bistro will allow guests to enjoy an even broader selection of authentic French cuisine while complementing the bakery’s existing menu.

Just Now News looks forward to returning when Le Bistro officially opens later this fall.

Fresh every day

French Riviera Tropézienne Bakery continues to focus on quality instead of quantity. Every loaf, pastry and dessert reflects generations of French baking traditions while embracing the welcoming atmosphere that has helped the business grow across the Las Vegas Valley.

For anyone searching for authentic French pastries, artisan bread or an outstanding cup of coffee, the new downtown location is already proving to be a delicious destination.
