LAS VEGAS (September 8, 2025). The welcome was warm at the Shannon West Homeless Youth Center. HPN Medicaid Youth support and Raiders safety Jeremy Chinn headlined a kickoff built on care and joy. Hot meals, live music, easy games, and real conversations set the tone. As a result, dignity led the night and hope followed.
What Happened
Big Chicken served hot meals, and drinks stayed cold on ice. Meanwhile, DJ Arlene Barba (Sound Fusion Entertainment) kept clean, upbeat tracks with QR song requests. Jeremy Chinn met guests in waves for photos and autographs, and an accessibility lane remained open for easy access. Additionally, Faded Barbershop Lounge LV provided free haircuts in two chairs with timed slots. Finally, a resource table linked youth to housing, health care, and jobs with QR intake and printed contacts; staff also booked follow-up calls when asked.
Why It Matters
SWHYC serves youth navigating housing instability. Consequently, stress is daily and trust can be thin. A predictable, well-run night lowers anxiety. Furthermore, clear steps reopen services and dignity-first support restores confidence. One safe evening can reset a week.
Partners And Roles
HELP of Southern Nevada managed operations and privacy. HPN Medicaid Youth volunteers supported check-in, dinner, and resources. The Jeremy Chinn Foundation amplified youth focus. Big Chicken delivered dinner on schedule, while Sound Fusion Entertainment managed the set. In addition, Faded Barbershop Lounge LV staffed haircuts and sanitation throughout.

Essentials With Dignity
Each resident received new gear: a drawstring backpack, shorts, a hoodie, and athletic sandals. Additionally, sizing help was available and swaps were easy. Packaging was discreet. Distribution felt respectful and personal. The message stayed constant: you matter here.

For more than 25 years, HPN Medicaid Youth investment has strengthened local partners. Since 2023, more than $10 million has been reinvested in housing stability, access to care, maternal health, and food security. Moreover, HPN Medicaid serves 200,000+ Nevada Medicaid and Nevada Check Up members. HELP of Southern Nevada operates nine departments with 160 employees and serves tens of thousands annually.
