New 200-foot thrill ride debuts during AREA15’s largest block party with fireworks, live music and immersive entertainment
LAS VEGAS — Just Now News was on hand Saturday evening as AREA15 officially launched Eye Dropper, the newest attraction inside Zone 2: The Terminals and one of the most visually striking thrill rides in Southern Nevada.
Hundreds of guests gathered for the opening celebration as AREA15 unveiled the towering 200-foot attraction during what organizers described as the largest block party in the entertainment district’s history.
The launch combined immersive storytelling, elaborate performers, live music, fireworks and the first public rides on the new attraction.
From the moment guests arrived, excitement filled the area surrounding the massive tower. Meanwhile, costumed performers interacted with visitors as anticipation built for the official launch ceremony.
New thrill ride dominates the skyline
Eye Dropper immediately became one of the most recognizable features at AREA15.
The attraction rises 200 feet above the district and features a massive LED “digital eye” at the top of the tower. The animated display changes throughout the ride experience and can be seen from significant distances across Las Vegas.
Unlike a traditional drop tower, Eye Dropper combines visual effects, audio elements and immersive storytelling.
As riders prepare for launch, lights pulse throughout the attraction while sound effects build anticipation.
Consequently, the experience feels more like a theatrical production than a standard amusement ride.
AREA15 officials say the attraction reaches speeds of up to 36 miles per hour while generating forces up to 4.0 Gs before transitioning into moments of weightlessness.
Opening ceremony delivers memorable moments
Saturday’s launch event featured a VIP reception, specialty cocktails, light bites and entertainment throughout the evening.
At 8 p.m., performers gathered near the attraction for the ceremonial launch.
Guests watched as synchronized lighting, music and special effects transformed the area into a spectacle of color and sound.
Shortly afterward, riders boarded Eye Dropper for the first official public rides.
Many guests exited smiling, cheering and immediately discussing the experience with friends.
Crowds continued gathering around the attraction throughout the evening to watch additional ride cycles and experience the visual effects.
Fireworks and Tritonal close the celebration
The excitement continued after sunset.
Visitors enjoyed views of the Las Vegas Strip fireworks show while remaining inside AREA15’s growing entertainment district.
Later, electronic music duo Tritonal took the stage and kept the celebration going with a live DJ performance.
As a result, the opening event delivered a combination of thrill rides, nightlife and entertainment that has become a hallmark of the AREA15 experience.
The debut of Eye Dropper also marks another major addition to The Terminals expansion area.
Recent additions include Universal Horror Unleashed, Interstellar Arc and several new dining and retail concepts.
AREA15 continues expanding
AREA15 has welcomed more than 16 million visitors since opening in 2020.
The entertainment district continues growing with additional attractions scheduled to open in the coming months.
For visitors attending Saturday’s celebration, however, Eye Dropper was clearly the star of the evening.
The attraction now stands as one of the tallest and most visually distinctive experiences in the district.
Moreover, the ride provides another reason for visitors and locals alike to explore one of Las Vegas’ fastest-growing entertainment destinations.
