Clark County Community Resource Fair for Victims

Community Event Offers Direct Support for Victims and Families

On Wednesday, April 9, Clark County will hold a free Community Resource Fair at the Dr. William U. Pearson Community Center in North Las Vegas. The event starts at 12:00 p.m. and runs until 5:00 p.m., giving residents five full hours of access to over 25 support agencies.

This fair, organized by the Victim Witness Assistance Center (VWAC), is part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The goal is to help residents learn about local services, get referrals, and connect with expert support teams.

45 Years of Local Victim Support

VWAC has supported crime victims in Clark County for more than 45 years. To honor that legacy, the Board of County Commissioners will issue a formal proclamation during its April 15 meeting. That proclamation will declare April 6–12, 2025, as Crime Victims’ Rights Week in Clark County.

This recognition adds weight to the event, reminding the public of the continued need to raise awareness, offer care, and strengthen community response systems.

Vital Resources and Real-time Support On Site

The fair will feature over 25 government and community organizations. Each booth offers clear information on services available to those impacted by crime. Representatives will explain how referrals work and how to access emergency or long-term support.

Agencies will include departments focused on legal aid, housing, safety, trauma recovery, and child services. VWAC staff will also be present to assist families and guide visitors to the right resources.

Only 40% of Violent Crimes Are Reported

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, only 40% of violent victimizations were reported to police in 2022. That number reflects a major gap in support outreach and a continued fear of reporting.

Events like this Community Resource Fair aim to close that gap. By offering direct access to help in a trusted community setting, Clark County hopes to increase public awareness and improve response rates in the future.

Free Entry, Open to Everyone in the Community

The event takes place at:
