The British Motor Museum has expanded its event offering with new activities designed to boost delegate engagement. The venue now offers added experiences that help organisers create more energy during conferences and business events.
These activities are simple add-ons for meetings, exhibitions and corporate events. They give delegates a chance to connect, compete and explore the museum’s historic car collection.
The goal is to make events more memorable while encouraging networking.

A conference venue built around British automotive history
The British Motor Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars.
The venue offers flexible conference spaces for 6 to 600 delegates. Organisers can host meetings, exhibitions, dinners and business events across several indoor rooms.
There are also 65 acres of outdoor space. The grounds include three hard standing arenas used for displays, product launches and team activities.
These spaces allow organisers to mix traditional conference sessions with interactive experiences.

Fast team challenges between sessions
Some of the new experiences focus on short and energetic challenges.
These activities are designed to fit into coffee breaks or short gaps between sessions.
Examples include:
- Wheel Change Challenge – Teams race against the clock to change a car wheel while competing with other groups.
- Pole Position Remote Control Challenge – Delegates race remote-controlled GT sports cars on a special track.
These quick competitions help break the ice and encourage teamwork.

Hands-on vehicle experiences
Organisers can also add experiences using vehicles from the museum’s historic collection.
These options create memorable moments for delegates.
Experiences include:
- Passenger driving experiences in selected historic vehicles.
- Display vehicles placed inside event spaces to match the theme or brand of the event.
The cars can become a talking point and a visual highlight during conferences.
Guided tours and interactive discovery
Delegates can also explore the museum through guided tours.
Tours are led by curators, archivists and museum experts. Some tours allow guests to interact with the vehicles.
Organisers can tailor the tours around themes such as specific car brands or important moments in British motoring history.
Another option is a scavenger hunt. Delegates explore the museum while searching for clues hidden among the exhibits.
This format works well for team building and networking.
A venue designed for modern business events
The museum’s conference centre supports events of many sizes. Organisers can host boardroom meetings, large presentations, exhibitions and gala dinners.
An in-house catering team also provides custom menus designed to match each event.
Toby Batchelor, Head of Commerce at the British Motor Museum, says organizers want more than a traditional meeting space.
“Organizers want more than a room and a screen,” Batchelor said. “They want delegates to connect and leave with a moment they remember.”
The new experiences aim to deliver those moments.
