Experience Prohibition History with Beer Tasting at The Mob Museum

The Mob Museum will introduce a new guided beer tasting experience this summer that combines craft beer, organized crime history, and storytelling inside one of downtown Las Vegas’ most visited attractions. The Untapped Story beer tasting experience Las Vegas offers an innovative combination of culture and local history for visitors.

The program, called “The Untapped Story: A Beer Tasting Experience,” will run on select evenings from June through August. Organizers said the limited-time offering is designed to connect the history of Prohibition-era crime with the role beer played in the growth of organized crime in the United States. In fact, The Untapped Story beer tasting experience Las Vegas was developed to bring these stories to life in a memorable way.

Tour Blends History and Beer Tastings

The experience will take place Monday through Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. Each session includes a 60-minute guided tour led by Museum educators, followed by time inside The Underground, the museum’s Prohibition-themed bar and distillery. Many visitors look forward to The Untapped Story beer tasting experience Las Vegas because it pairs education with relaxation.

Participants will sample multiple beer styles during the tour, including lagers, IPAs, and the museum’s house draft, Big Al’s Ale.

Because of the structure of the experience, guests will move through historical exhibits while hearing stories tied to Prohibition, bootlegging, and organized crime activity during the early 20th century.

Prohibition History Remains Central Theme

The tour focuses heavily on how alcohol bans during Prohibition contributed to the rise of organized crime groups across the country.

Museum educators will explain how bootlegging operations created large underground markets for alcohol and expanded criminal influence in major cities.

Because beer distribution became highly profitable during that period, organized crime groups gained significant financial and political power.

The experience also connects those historical developments to Las Vegas history and the city’s relationship with gaming and entertainment. Furthermore, guests attending The Untapped Story beer tasting experience Las Vegas will discover how this past shapes the present-day city.

Museum Continues Expanding Interactive Experiences

The Mob Museum has increasingly added themed programs and interactive offerings beyond its permanent exhibits.

In addition to historical displays, the museum regularly hosts cocktail events, educational programs, and live entertainment inside The Underground.

This new beer tasting experience reflects a broader trend among museums that combine education with entertainment-based programming.

Industry observers say attractions that offer interactive experiences often attract repeat visitors and younger audiences looking for activities beyond traditional exhibit viewing.

Downtown Tourism Continues to Grow

The launch comes as downtown Las Vegas continues to see increased tourism and nightlife activity.

Venues in the area have expanded food, beverage, and entertainment offerings in recent years to attract both visitors and local residents.

Because of its location in the downtown corridor, The Mob Museum remains one of the city’s most recognized historical attractions.

The museum has also received national recognition from travel publications and tourism organizations for its exhibits and programming.

Tickets Include Museum Access

Tickets for “The Untapped Story” are priced at $69 per person. Museum members receive discounted admission at $49.

Each ticket also includes general museum admission beginning at 5 p.m., allowing guests to explore exhibits independently before the guided tasting begins.

Participants will also receive a commemorative pint glass as part of the experience.

Because tours are limited to 24 guests each evening, reservations are required in advance. Private group bookings are also available.

Adults-Only Experience

The tasting experience is limited to guests 21 and older. Participants must present valid identification before entry.

A minimum of two guests is required per booking. Organizers said the smaller group format is intended to maintain a more guided and interactive atmosphere during the tour.

Demand for Experiential Tourism Continues

Las Vegas tourism trends increasingly favor experiential attractions that combine entertainment with education or social interaction.

Beer tastings, guided tours, and themed nightlife experiences have grown in popularity across the hospitality industry.

Because of this shift, museums and cultural venues have expanded programming to appeal to broader audiences.

The Mob Museum said the new tour is intended to provide visitors with a different way to engage with both history and craft beer culture during the summer season.
