In a city renowned for its extravagant spectacles, the arrival of Fontainebleau commands attention. With its esteemed brand recognition, it reigns as the first new resort on the Strip since Resorts World’s unveiling in 2021, signaling a new era of hospitality in this vibrant desert metropolis.
The genesis of Fontainebleau Las Vegas traces back to 2000 when Jeffrey Soffer, Chairman and CEO of Fontainebleau Development, acquired the land. However, the journey was not without its trials. Construction commenced in 2007 but halted abruptly due to the Great Recession, leaving the colossal structure dormant, 70% complete, for a staggering 12 years. Yet, amidst adversity, the project’s embers reignited just before the pandemic, propelled by a consortium of deals and unwavering determination.
The result? A towering 67-story structure, the tallest inhabitable building in the state, offering breathtaking vistas of the glittering Strip and the entire Las Vegas Valley. The crown jewels of this architectural marvel are the Fontainebleau Fleur de Lis suites, an exclusive collection of 76 lavish enclaves adorning the uppermost five floors.
Elevating luxury to unparalleled heights, these suites redefine elegance, boasting amenities such as billiards tables, wellness rooms, and bespoke Italian bedding. Brett Mufosn, Fontainebleau Development President, heralds the Fleur de Lis collection as a “six-star experience,” meticulously tailored to each guest’s preferences, epitomizing a luxurious home-away-from-home.
Steeped in design excellence, these spaces pay homage to the original mid-century modern Fontainebleau Miami Beach. The London-based David Collins Studio meticulously crafted these sanctuaries, featuring high ceilings and distinctive bowtie shapes, reminiscent of the Florida property’s architectural finesse.
However, luxury of this caliber comes at a price, with Fleur de Lis suite rates starting at $5,000 per night, while regular rooms cater to guests starting at $300 per night.
Yet, beyond its opulent accommodations, Fontainebleau Las Vegas charts an unconventional course in its gastronomic landscape. Partnering with Groot Hospitality, the resort introduces Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s acclaimed nightclub LIV and renowned eateries Komodo and Papi Steak to the desert, alongside an illustrious lineup of culinary luminaries.
Among the notable additions is Cantina Contramar, slated for a 2024 debut, uniting three esteemed figures from the Mexican culinary and creative sphere—chef Gabriela Cámara, architect Frida Escobedo, and Tequila Casa Dragones founder Bertha González Nieves. This groundbreaking cantina will house a Casa Dragones tasting room, a premier offering marking a first in Las Vegas.
The resort’s allure extends beyond its gastronomic opulence. The 55,000-square-foot Lapis Spa, a Milan-inspired sanctuary, features a plethora of indulgent amenities, from purifying salt caves to healing infrared saunas—a haven for rejuvenation amid the vibrant city’s bustle.
Fontainebleau Las Vegas also hosts entertainment spectacles, with Post Malone set to inaugurate the 3,800-seat BleauLive Theater on December 30 and 31.
