Foster parents receive complimentary Play Passes through June initiative
LAS VEGAS — Play Playground Las Vegas is turning fun into a force for good this summer through a new partnership with The Animal Foundation aimed at supporting kitten fostering efforts across Southern Nevada.
The interactive gaming destination inside Luxor Hotel and Casino announced that individuals who foster kittens through The Animal Foundation during June will receive two complimentary Play Passes as a thank-you for helping care for vulnerable animals.
The initiative is part of Play Playground’s ongoing Play it Forward program, which focuses on supporting nonprofit organizations and community causes throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
Running from June 1 through June 30, the partnership seeks to encourage more residents to open their homes to kittens during one of the busiest seasons for animal shelters.
Addressing a growing need for foster homes
Summer months often bring an increase in kittens entering shelters, creating a greater demand for foster families.
According to The Animal Foundation, more than 1,000 kittens were placed into foster homes in 2026. However, nearly 29,000 animals, including kittens, were admitted to the shelter in 2025.
To help support those efforts, Play Playground will donate 1,000 Play Passes to the initiative.
The contribution allows up to 500 foster parents to receive complimentary admission while supplies last.
Organizers hope the incentive encourages more community members to participate in fostering programs that provide temporary care for kittens until they are ready for adoption.
Play Playground expands community outreach efforts
Known for its larger-than-life games and social atmosphere, Play Playground has increasingly focused on community partnerships through its Play it Forward initiative.
The attraction features more than 20 interactive games and challenges designed to bring people together through friendly competition and shared experiences.
Company leaders say the partnership with The Animal Foundation aligns naturally with the venue’s mission of creating meaningful connections.
“Play Playground was created to bring people together in ways that feel memorable and spark genuine connection, and this partnership with The Animal Foundation is a natural extension of that,” said Phil Royle, chief executive officer of Play Playground.
“People who foster these kittens are giving their time, energy and homes to help something bigger than themselves. We want to do something to show our appreciation and give them a fun reason to get out, reconnect and enjoy a day of play, too.”
The initiative reflects a growing trend among entertainment venues seeking opportunities to support local nonprofit organizations while engaging with the community.
How the foster incentive works
Individuals interested in participating must complete the fostering process directly through The Animal Foundation.
Approved foster parents will receive two complimentary Play Passes for each fostered kitten or litter placement while supplies last.
The passes are non-transferable, carry no cash value and may only be redeemed at Play Playground Las Vegas.
Organizers encourage interested participants to apply early due to anticipated demand during the summer fostering season.
The promotion is designed to reward foster families while helping increase awareness of the shelter’s ongoing need for volunteers.
Supporting animal welfare across Southern Nevada
The Animal Foundation remains one of the nation’s highest-volume single-site animal shelters.
Founded in 1978, the nonprofit organization focuses on reducing pet homelessness and improving animal welfare through adoption services, foster programs, veterinary care, microchipping, vaccinations and community outreach initiatives.
In 2025 alone, the organization saved more than 23,000 pets.
Shelter leaders continue emphasizing the importance of foster programs, particularly during kitten season when shelters often experience increased intake numbers.
Foster homes provide young animals with individualized care and socialization while freeing shelter resources for additional animals in need.
Community partnerships such as this one help raise awareness while encouraging greater public involvement.
Entertainment meets community impact
For Play Playground, the partnership represents more than a promotional campaign.
It reflects the company’s broader commitment to supporting causes that strengthen the local community.
Located on the Atrium Level inside Luxor Hotel and Casino, Play Playground has become known as one of Las Vegas’ most interactive entertainment destinations.
The venue welcomes guests ages 13 and older before 7 p.m. and transitions to a 21-and-over experience during evening hours.
By combining entertainment with philanthropy, company leaders hope to create positive experiences both inside and outside the attraction.
As kitten season continues throughout Southern Nevada, organizers believe even small incentives can help encourage more residents to participate in fostering efforts.
For hundreds of kittens awaiting temporary homes, those decisions can make a significant difference.
