Hard Rock Las Vegas Guitar Hotel Milestone Achieved

Hard Rock Las Vegas reached a major construction milestone this month. Crews placed the final beam on the resort’s massive Guitar Hotel tower. As a result, the future resort moved one step closer to its official opening on the Las Vegas Strip.

The topping-out ceremony took place on May 1, 2026. Executives from Hard Rock International joined construction teams and local leaders for the event. In addition, workers signed the final beam before it was lifted into place above Las Vegas Boulevard.

Guitar Tower Changes the Las Vegas Skyline

The new Guitar Hotel already stands out across the Strip. The blue-glass tower rises more than 660 feet above Las Vegas. Furthermore, the structure now ranks among the tallest resort towers in the city.

Once completed, the Guitar Hotel will feature about 600 luxury guest rooms and suites. Meanwhile, the full resort will offer nearly 3,700 rooms across the entire property.

Construction crews continue working daily at the former Mirage site. Since 2024, the property has undergone a complete transformation into the future Hard Rock Las Vegas resort.

Hard Rock Las Vegas Opening Set for 2027

Hard Rock International says the new resort remains on schedule to open during the fourth quarter of 2027.

The finished resort will include:

  • A 174,000-square-foot casino
  • More than 2,000 slot machines
  • Over 200 table games
  • Multiple pools and spas
  • New restaurants and lounges
  • Retail shopping areas
  • Entertainment venues
  • Meeting and convention space

In addition, the property will feature music-inspired design and memorabilia connected to the Hard Rock brand.

Because of its location at the center of the Strip, tourism experts expect the property to become one of Las Vegas’ busiest destinations.

Former Mirage Continues Full Transformation

The Mirage originally opened in 1989. At the time, the resort helped reshape modern Las Vegas hospitality. However, the property officially closed in July 2024 after Hard Rock International purchased the resort.

Since then, construction crews have worked around the clock on the redevelopment project.

Workers removed the Mirage volcano in 2024 to make room for the new Guitar Hotel tower. Meanwhile, crews continue replacing the former Mirage gold windows with blue-tinted glass. As a result, the resort now looks dramatically different from its earlier design.

Thousands of Jobs Expected at the Resort

Hard Rock executives say the property will employ nearly 6,000 workers once fully operational. In addition, construction has already created thousands of temporary jobs throughout Southern Nevada.

Meanwhile, the company recently began hiring senior executives ahead of the resort opening. Leadership positions currently include gaming operations, marketing, entertainment, and hospitality management roles.

Local tourism officials believe the project will generate significant economic activity for Las Vegas once the resort opens.

Las Vegas Continues Resort Expansion Boom

Las Vegas continues evolving with large-scale resort projects and entertainment developments. Over the last decade, the city has shifted toward immersive luxury experiences focused on nightlife, hospitality, sports, and entertainment.

The future Hard Rock Las Vegas fits directly into that trend. In fact, many analysts already believe the Guitar Hotel could become one of the Strip’s most photographed landmarks.

Meanwhile, social media users continue sharing weekly construction updates and drone footage as excitement builds around the project.

Now the topping-out ceremony is complete, the countdown toward the Hard Rock Las Vegas opening in late 2027 officially enters its next phase.
