The annual Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival will conclude its 15th year with the Giant Science and Technology Expo on May 2. The free event will take place at the World Market Center Las Vegas and will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Organizers said the expo will feature more than 60 interactive exhibits and live demonstrations. The event is expected to draw families, students, and educators from across Southern Nevada.

Large-Scale STEM Event Returns
The expo serves as the signature closing event for the regional STEM festival. It brings together scientists, researchers, and industry professionals in one location.
Attendees will be able to take part in hands-on experiments and technology demonstrations. In addition, visitors can explore topics such as robotics, virtual reality, coding, and esports.
Because of the interactive format, the event aims to make science and technology accessible to a broad audience. Organizers said the goal is to encourage curiosity and learning through direct participation.

Focus on Education and Community Engagement
The event is presented by the Las Vegas Science and Natural History Museum and the Clark County School District. It is supported by Nevada National Security Sites and more than 60 community partners.
As part of the program, the school with the highest attendance will receive a $1,000 award. The recognition is based on the number of students and families who check in during the event.
Organizers said the award helps encourage participation from local schools. It also supports continued engagement in STEM education.

Exhibits Cover Wide Range of Topics
The expo will include exhibits from a variety of organizations and institutions. These range from local schools to major research and industry groups.
Participants will be able to meet scientists and learn about current research. In addition, exhibits will feature wildlife encounters and fossil displays from Nevada.
Because of this range, the event offers both educational and interactive experiences. It also provides exposure to career paths in science and technology fields.
Hands-On Activities Highlight Emerging Technology
Visitors will have access to demonstrations of modern technology. These include robotics systems, virtual reality setups, and coding activities.
In addition, esports and digital innovation will be part of the event. Organizers said these features reflect current trends in STEM education.
The event also includes opportunities to interact directly with professionals. This allows attendees to ask questions and gain insight into different fields.
Strong Community Participation Expected
More than 60 exhibitors are scheduled to participate in the expo. These include public agencies, private companies, and educational organizations.
Because of this broad participation, the event highlights collaboration across sectors. It also reflects the region’s growing focus on STEM development.
Local organizations such as libraries, healthcare providers, and energy companies will also be present. Their involvement helps expand the range of topics covered during the event.
Attendance Process and Access
The expo is free and open to the public. However, organizers encourage attendees to RSVP in advance.
Upon arrival, guests will check in using a QR code. This system will help track attendance and determine the school participation award.
Because of the event’s size, early arrival is recommended. Organizers expect steady attendance throughout the day.
Continuing Growth of the Festival
The Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival began in 2011. Since then, it has grown into the largest educational event in Nevada.
Each year, the festival includes multiple programs leading up to the final expo. These events aim to promote science, technology, engineering, and math across the community.
Organizers said the festival continues to expand its reach. It focuses on making STEM education accessible to students, families, and adults.
