Hands-on science events coming to the community April 25–May 3
The Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival is officially back for its 14th year. From April 25 through May 3, families across the valley can enjoy nine days of free STEM-focused activities designed to educate and inspire. The festival will conclude with the Giant Science & Technology Expo on Saturday, May 3 at the World Market Center. Organizers expect another record-breaking turnout as the community celebrates innovation, education, and fun.
Free events include tours, workshops, panels, and expos
This year’s schedule includes a wide range of events for all ages. The lineup features museum nights, outdoor explorations, robotics demonstrations, and STEM movie nights. Some of the most anticipated events include:
– Ologist Night at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum on April 25
– Outdoor Explorers Day at Nevada State College and Clark County Wetlands Park on April 26
– Science is Everywhere Day on April 27 with behind-the-scenes tours at Shark Reef and Bellagio Fountains
– Women in Science panel, STEM eSports panel, and UNLV Young Rebels showcase
– A special Star Wars-themed science night at DRI and the National Atomic Testing Museum on May 1
– Night at the CSN Planetarium on May 2
– The final Giant Expo on May 3 at the EXPO at World Market Center

Early registration strongly encouraged
Although all events are free, space is limited. Advance registration opens April 1 at 7 a.m., and spots fill up fast. “Registration day is the key date to mark on your calendar,” said Sarah Elliott, Director of the Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival. “We’ll continue to add events, but the most popular ones go quickly. Families should start planning now.”
Festival builds interest in STEM careers
Hosted by the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, the festival is more than just entertainment. It’s designed to spark curiosity and raise awareness of STEM careers. By connecting students with real scientists, engineers, and technologists, the event opens doors to exciting future opportunities. From coding and recycling to space science and paleontology, kids can experience real-world science in an engaging way.
A collaborative effort with strong community support
The festival is produced in collaboration with the Clark County School District and dozens of community partners. Supporters include Nevada National Security Site, NV Energy, Cox Communications, MGM Resorts International, and Southern Hills Hospital. Their commitment helps ensure that all programming remains free and accessible to the public.
