Gaudin Technical Institute celebrated the graduation of its third class on May 7, marking another milestone in the organization’s effort to expand workforce training opportunities in Southern Nevada.
The graduation ceremony honored 14 students completing the institute’s automotive technician program. Family members, industry leaders, instructors, and community supporters gathered in Las Vegas to recognize the graduates as they prepare to enter the workforce.

Scholarship Presentation Opens Ceremony
The ceremony began with a $50,000 scholarship check presentation from the Nevada Franchised Automobile Dealers Association to Gaudin Technical Institute.
Officials said the contribution reflects ongoing support from Nevada’s automotive industry and reinforces partnerships focused on technician training and career development.
Because the automotive sector continues facing demand for skilled workers, organizations across Nevada have increased investment in workforce education programs.
The scholarship funding will help GTI continue offering tuition-free technical education for local students entering the industry.
Program Continues Expanding Workforce Pipeline
With the newest graduating class, Gaudin Technical Institute has now graduated 31 students since launching in 2024.
The nonprofit school was created to provide a direct path into the automotive field through hands-on instruction, technical certifications, and industry partnerships.
Students train inside a working repair environment that mirrors real-world automotive service operations. In addition, the program emphasizes practical experience alongside classroom instruction.
Because of this structure, graduates leave the program with industry-ready skills and certifications designed to meet current workforce demands.
Tuition-Free Model Removes Financial Barriers
One of the program’s biggest impacts has been its tuition-free approach to education.
According to institute officials, GTI has eliminated more than $1 million in tuition costs for local students since opening.
Funding for the program comes from donations, dealership partnerships, industry support, and state funding initiatives.
As a result, students can complete automotive training without taking on the financial burden often associated with technical education programs.
“Every graduating class represents more than completed coursework—it represents opportunity, momentum, and meaningful change,” said Wesley Gregg.
Automotive Industry Faces Growing Demand
The automotive service industry continues experiencing high demand for trained technicians across the country.
Industry analysts point to increasing vehicle complexity, retirements among experienced technicians, and continued labor shortages as major factors driving workforce needs.
Programs like Gaudin Technical Institute are designed to help address those shortages at the local level.
Because Southern Nevada’s population continues to grow, workforce development programs tied to skilled trades remain an important part of the regional economy.
Students Graduate With Industry Certifications
GTI students complete training that includes industry-recognized certifications.
The program offers select Ford Service Technician Specialty Training credentials through the Ford ACE program. Students can also earn certifications through BG Southern Nevada and Justice Brothers.
Officials said these certifications help graduates enter the workforce with practical experience already in place.
In addition, students receive job placement assistance and professional guidance after graduation.
Community Partnerships Continue Driving Growth
The institute works closely with dealerships, automotive businesses, and community organizations throughout Nevada.
Those partnerships help shape curriculum standards while also creating employment opportunities for graduates.
Industry representatives attending the ceremony said workforce partnerships remain essential as dealerships continue searching for qualified technicians.
