Hoover Dam Rafting: 2026 Season Launch & Info

LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA — Hoover Dam Rafting will officially begin its 2026 season on Wednesday, February 25. The launch marks the 43rd year visitors can explore Black Canyon by raft beneath the legendary Hoover Dam.

Lake Mead Mohave Adventures operates the experience. Starting February 25, guests can book tours every Wednesday through Sunday. In addition, private charters return for the new season.

Each outing offers something rare: an up-close view of Hoover Dam from the base of the structure.

Canyon Classic River Tour offers immersive experience

The Canyon Classic River Tour delivers a three-hour rafting journey through the Black Canyon National Water Trail. Guests check in at Lake Mead RV Village at 9:30 a.m. Afterward, they board motor-assisted inflatable rafts designed for smooth water travel.

During the trip, expert guides share stories about the dam’s construction in the 1930s. They also explain the geology of the canyon walls that rise dramatically above the Colorado River. Along the way, visitors may spot desert bighorn sheep climbing rocky cliffs. Osprey and great blue herons often circle overhead.

Because the water remains calm, the tour appeals to families and first-time rafters. In addition, the experience blends outdoor adventure with education and wellness.

The trip concludes at Willow Beach Marina & Campground. From there, air-conditioned buses transport guests back across the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.

Boxed lunches are included. Vegetarian and gluten-free meals are available upon request.

Pricing begins at $110 for children ages 5 to 15 and $125 for guests 16 and older. Children four and under ride free. Furthermore, guests may add round-trip transportation from Las Vegas hotels for $69 per person.

Postcard River Tour delivers quick highlights

For visitors short on time, the Postcard River Tour offers a 90-minute experience focused on the canyon’s most photogenic views.

Guests check in at the Hoover Dam Lodge in Boulder City at 10:30 a.m. Then, they board rafts for a three-mile loop along the Colorado River.

The route floats directly beneath Hoover Dam. As a result, guests capture dramatic photos of the structure towering above the canyon walls. The tour also offers close views of the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.

Unlike the longer excursion, this option requires less time. Therefore, it fits easily into day trips or weekend itineraries.

Prices start at $49 for children ages 5 to 15 and $69 for guests 16 and older. Children four and under participate free of charge. Snacks and beverages are included.

Additionally, round-trip transportation from The LINQ Hotel in Las Vegas is available this season for $50 per person.

Private charters return for 2026

Private charter bookings resume with the new season. These custom experiences begin at $1,780 and allow groups to choose departure times and curated food options.

Corporate teams, family reunions and special events frequently select charter packages. Guests travel on private rafts with a dedicated guide. Moreover, catered riverside lunches at Willow Beach Marina are available.

Charters provide flexibility while maintaining the scenic river experience.

A four-decade tradition continues

“For more than four decades, we have welcomed guests onto the river for moments that feel timeless,” said Chad Taylor, director of marketing and guest experience for Lake Mead Mohave Adventures. “Seeing Hoover Dam from the water creates a perspective few people ever experience.”

Beyond recreation, the company emphasizes environmental stewardship. Guides discuss conservation and responsible tourism throughout the tour. Consequently, guests leave with both memories and knowledge of the ecosystem.

Later this spring, Lake Mead Mohave Adventures plans to introduce a new river tour. The company will also announce limited special rafting dates for the 2026 season.

As demand for outdoor experiences continues to grow, Hoover Dam Rafting remains a signature attraction within Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
