Monthly programs that bring history to life
Nevada Preservation Foundation is rolling out a year of hands-on events that make Southern Nevada’s cultural and architectural stories easy to experience. These programs strengthen neighborhoods, support local businesses, and build pride while showing how preservation fuels a more engaging, resilient Las Vegas. Each month adds a new way to connect with place, people, and design history under the guidance of local historians and partners across the valley. Nevada Preservation Foundation will use these events to build momentum into Home + History Las Vegas 2026, the region’s marquee heritage festival.
Paradise Palms Bike Tour — September 20, 2025 ($35)
In partnership with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, this guided ride glides through the legendary mid-century modern enclave of Paradise Palms. Attendees will see Palmer & Krisel designs, former celebrity homes, and crisp angles that define the neighborhood’s timeless look. Because the route is curated, riders can focus on details that casual drives miss.

Docomomo Tour Day — Las Vegas Sacred Spaces, October 11, 2025 ($35)
A walking tour of postwar houses of worship highlights how Modern architecture shaped community life far beyond Sunday service. The route features St. Anne Catholic Church, Christ Church Episcopal, Trinity Life Center, and Great I Am Baptist Church. Participants will learn how clean lines, expressive geometry, and thoughtful planning supported education, fellowship, and outreach during the city’s boom. A portion of proceeds supports the congregations on the tour.
Tombstone Tales — Saturdays in October 2025 ($25)
Story-rich cemetery walks trace the lives of pioneer families and the complicated characters who built early Las Vegas. Guides connect names on stones to events that still echo today. Because the tours run across October, residents can choose the Saturday that fits their schedule and still catch every twist of local lore.

Boomerang Bloom Autumn Garden Tour — November 8, 2025 ($35)
A self-guided peek behind the fences of beautifully landscaped vintage homes shows how modern plant palettes blend with mid-century curb appeal. The route moves through several historic neighborhoods so guests can compare ideas block by block and take home practical inspiration for their own yards.
Cocktails & True Tales — Holidays in Vegas, December 2025 ($20)
This oral history happy hour returns at The Composers Room Show Lounge for a festive edition focused on celebrating the season, Vegas-style. A panel of storytellers will share memories that illuminate nightlife, neighborhood traditions, and the glittering holiday atmosphere of yesteryear. Attendees can expect lively conversation, memory-lane photos, and a few surprises.

Sadie Hawkins Dance & Vintage Cakewalk — February 2026
NPF is reviving the classic dance night with a sweet twist. Guests can come solo or bring a partner, then jump, jive, and wail through a joyful evening capped by a vintage cakewalk. Because the event is built for participation, it is a perfect winter pick-me-up for every generation.
Home + History Las Vegas — April 16–19, 2026
Save the dates for the valley’s largest annual heritage festival. The four-day celebration brings tours, talks, open houses, and special experiences led by local historians and preservation pros. Attendees can expect new routes, new stories, and deeper access to the buildings and neighborhoods that define Southern Nevada’s identity.
Why preservation matters right now
Preservation is not only about saving buildings. It is about keeping the stories, craftsmanship, and neighborhood character that make Southern Nevada distinct. When residents explore design history, they see how planning choices affect quality of life today. In turn, they become stronger advocates for thoughtful growth. Because heritage programming supports small businesses and diversifies tourism, it also creates jobs and keeps more value in the community.
How to join and get tickets
Tickets for each event are available at nevadapreservation.org, along with maps, schedules, and updates. Residents should secure spots early, since tour groups stay intentionally small to protect sites and ensure great guide-to-guest interaction. Volunteers, sponsors, and partners who want to support future programming can reach out through the website as well. Nevada Preservation Foundation welcomes every neighbor who wants to learn, participate, and help care for the places that tell the story of the Silver State.
