Clark County has started construction on the Lake Mead Microbusiness Park, a $53 million mixed-use project located in the Historic Westside. The development blends affordable housing, retail space, and entrepreneur resources to strengthen the local economy and support neighborhood growth.

New Homes and Business Opportunities in One Project

The Lake Mead Microbusiness Park will include 76 workforce housing units for families earning up to 80% of the area median income ($76,160 annually). It will also feature 20,000 square feet of commercial space. This space will host shops, restaurants, offices, classrooms, and a dedicated maker space for local entrepreneurs.

Commissioner McCurdy Highlights Community Impact

Commissioner William McCurdy II spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony on March 20, 2025. He shared that the project reflects more than new construction. It shows a real investment in the future of the Historic Westside. Over 200 people joined the event, including elected officials and the respected Parson-Mason family.

Project Location Supports Growth and Education

The site sits west of I-15 on Lake Mead Boulevard. It neighbors the Las Vegas Culinary Academy and Nevada Partners, creating easy access to workforce training and career development programs. This location connects residents directly to new educational and economic opportunities.

A Tribute to Local Legacy and Leadership

The project honors community pioneers Stella Mason Parson and Rev. Claude H. Parson Jr. Stella was the first African American woman to graduate from college in Nevada. Her husband led the Vegas View Church of God in Christ. Their contributions helped build the foundation for today’s Historic Westside.

Nevada Builders and Federal Funds Drive Progress

Metcalf Builders, a trusted Nevada-based construction company, is leading the residential build. Funding comes from Clark County and the State of Nevada, using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars. These investments ensure local jobs and lasting value for the community.

Leasing for Homes and Businesses Coming Soon

Construction is expected to wrap up in 2026. Leasing for both housing and commercial spaces will begin in early 2026. The project will offer space for families, entrepreneurs, and small business owners who want to grow within their own community.

Developers Focus on Lasting Community Impact

Developer David Brint, Co-Founder of Brinshore Development, spoke on the long-term goals. “We want this project to help families and businesses thrive for years to come,” he said. Their vision is clear: build quality homes, create jobs, and empower local entrepreneurs.

Lake Mead Microbusiness Park Builds a Stronger Future

This project brings new life to the Historic Westside. It supports affordable housing, fuels business growth, and honors the area’s deep roots. The Lake Mead Microbusiness Park proves what’s possible when public funding and community values come together.
