Las Vegas Recovery Hospital prepares to address a major gap in care
Las Vegas Recovery Hospital will open in January 2026 as Southern Nevada’s first hospital to combine acute medical care with addiction recovery services. The independent facility, operated by Lion Health System, will serve patients who face serious medical conditions alongside substance use disorders.
The 68-bed hospital spans 32,000 square feet and delivers hospital-level medical treatment in an addiction-informed setting. Leaders say the model allows patients to receive complete care without being transferred between systems.
Designed for patients who often fall between systems
Healthcare providers often struggle to place patients who need both medical stabilization and addiction treatment. Many cycle through emergency departments or discharge without appropriate follow-up care.
Las Vegas Recovery Hospital was created to address that gap directly. The hospital treats medical conditions such as severe infections, respiratory complications, organ dysfunction, and withdrawal symptoms while providing integrated addiction care.

Repurposed space allows faster community access
Rather than building a new hospital, Lion Health System leased and repurposed existing medical space on the Rose de Lima campus in Henderson. The facility occupies the third and fourth floors of an existing medical building.
This approach allowed the organization to move forward faster and begin serving Southern Nevada without construction delays.
Independent operations and specialized staffing
Las Vegas Recovery Hospital operates independently with its own leadership, clinical protocols, and daily operations. The hospital is not affiliated with Dignity Health.
The facility has hired 25 staff members for its initial opening and plans to grow to more than 200 employees at full capacity. The care team includes addiction-certified physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, social workers, and certified recovery specialists.

Support for emergency departments and hospitals
Hospital leaders expect Las Vegas Recovery Hospital to serve as a resource for emergency departments across the region. The hospital will accept patients who require medical stabilization and addiction treatment in the same setting.
By offering a specialized placement option, the hospital aims to reduce emergency department boarding, lower readmissions, decrease repeat 911 calls, and prevent unsafe discharges.
“We want to support patients and healthcare providers at the same time,” said Stacey Zierath-Campa, CEO of Las Vegas Recovery Hospital. “Our goal is to make sure patients receive the right care without falling through the cracks.”
Integrated care under one roof
Las Vegas Recovery Hospital provides detox services when needed, psychiatric care, peer recovery support, and individualized recovery planning alongside acute medical treatment. Patients remain in one facility for the full course of care.
The hospital includes private and semi-private rooms, each with its own bathroom. The facility accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most major private insurance plans.
