Lotus Ring: Revolutionary Wearable Tech Unveiled at CES 2024 | Enhancing Home Automation and Accessibility

As anticipation builds for the latest advancements in home automation, Lotus is making headlines with its groundbreaking device—the Lotus Ring. This innovative wearable, which we first encountered at CES 2024 in January, is poised to transform home automation with a focus on accessibility and user empowerment.
A Busy Summer at Lotus
It’s been an eventful summer at Lotus as we prepare for the official launch of the Lotus Ring this fall. Our engineers have been hard at work on-site with manufacturers, crafting the first generation of the Lotus Ring. This final stage involves streamlining the manufacturing process and preparing to unveil the finished product.
While the engineering team focused on development, other members represented Lotus at the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) Conference in Washington, DC. This event brings together individuals with diverse perspectives, including lived experiences with disabilities, subject matter expertise, and industry leadership. It truly embodies the principle of “Nothing About Us, Without Us.”
Expanding Our Partnerships
We are excited to announce partnerships with over 30 disability organizations, including Centers for Independent Living and Statewide Assistive Technology Programs, across more than 25 states and provinces in the U.S. and Canada. These collaborations are essential for making our technology accessible to a broader audience.
In addition, we have been awarded grant funding through the federal Administration for Community Living (ACL)’s National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). This grant will support a multi-state Lotus Ring pilot program, involving a diverse group of participants such as older adults, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
Engaging the Community
Our founder, Dhaval Patel, has been actively sharing Lotus’s journey on various podcasts and radio shows. Recent episodes include:
- Pushing Forward with Alycia: Innovative Tech for Disability Inclusion
- What’s Next Living Longer Better Smarter: A Summer of Caring
- Easterseals Crossroads: Assistive Technology Update
These discussions highlight our commitment to creating technology that enhances accessibility and independence for all users.
Lotus Ring: A New Era in Home Automation
The Lotus Ring, first showcased at CES 2024 Tech West, represents a revolutionary approach to home control. This sleek, wearable device allows users to manage lights, fans, and TVs with a simple pointing gesture, eliminating the need for rewiring, smartphones, or internet connectivity. Developed by Dhaval Patel and a team of experts with a prestigious background at Apple, the Lotus Ring combines sophisticated technology with thoughtful design.
Boasting 37 patents, the Lotus Ring is engineered to enable independent living. It has garnered praise during early testing phases, with early adopters labeling it a “game-changer.”
A Commitment to Inclusivity
Lotus uses a human-centered design approach, placing Lotus Ring prototypes in the hands of key demographics, including the 27 million Americans with limited mobility. This approach ensures that the technology meets diverse needs and lifestyles, focusing on older adults, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
Looking Ahead
The Lotus Ring is currently available for pre-order at getlotus.com/pre-order and will launch across North America in Fall 2024. As Lotus continues to innovate in home automation, the Lotus Ring stands as a symbol of inclusivity, independence, and accessibility in wearable tech.
As the Lotus Ring prepares for its launch, it signifies a transformative advancement in technology, offering a powerful tool for enhancing autonomy. Lotus is committed to enhancing accessibility and redefining wearable technology, promising a future where innovation is both groundbreaking and inclusive.
