Mirage Hotel & Casino to Disperse $1.6 Million in Final Week Before Closing

Las Vegas Icon Set to Shut Doors, Pay Out Progressive Jackpots

As the iconic Mirage Hotel & Casino prepares to close its doors permanently on July 17, the establishment is set to go out with a bang by distributing $1.6 million in progressive jackpots. Per Nevada Gaming Commission regulations, the casino must pay out all progressive jackpots before shutting down, making for an exciting final week for patrons.

Progressive Jackpot Payout Schedule

Mirage personnel have confirmed that $1.2 million will be distributed through slot machine jackpots and $400,000 through table games between July 9 and July 16. The progressive slot jackpot drawings will occur every 30 minutes from 3 to 7 p.m., offering a thrilling opportunity for visitors to win big. Here’s the detailed payout schedule:

  • July 9-11: $200,000 in slot jackpots
  • July 12-13: $250,000 in slot jackpots
  • July 16: $100,000 in slot jackpots

To participate, players must be 21 or older and use the Mirage’s Unity card, a player rewards program, while gambling.

Progressive Table Games Payout

The $400,000 in table game prize money will be given away on Friday and Saturday. The games included in this jackpot dispersal are:

  • Pai Gow
  • Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em
  • Three Card Poker
  • Let it Ride
  • Blackjack
  • Baccarat

End of an Era

The Mirage, a landmark on the Las Vegas Strip for 34 years, is closing to make way for a new development. In May, Hard Rock International announced that the Mirage would be redeveloped into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas. The new project, which includes a nearly 700-foot guitar-shaped hotel, is expected to open in spring 2027. A similar 638-room hotel currently stands in Hollywood, Florida.

The Mirage is perhaps best known for its 54-foot man-made volcano, magicians Siegfried and Roy, and its white tigers and dolphins. The closure marks the second significant shutdown on the Strip this year, following the Tropicana’s closure in April to make way for a 30,000-seat stadium for the Oakland A’s.

A Final Opportunity

For those looking to experience the Mirage one last time and potentially win a share of the $1.6 million in jackpots, this final week presents a unique opportunity. With its legacy of entertainment and luxury, the Mirage’s last act will undoubtedly be remembered by all who participate.
