Mob Museum Strengthens Leadership with New Appointments

The Mob Museum has announced a series of leadership updates, including the return of a former board member, the appointment of three new advisory council members and the addition of a senior director of sales.

The changes reflect the museum’s continued focus on expanding its expertise across law enforcement, academia, communications and the hospitality industry.

Board of Directors welcomes returning member

The museum confirmed the return of Nancy B. Rapoport to its Board of Directors.

Rapoport previously served on the board for nine years, from 2013 to 2022, including time as secretary and as a member of the executive committee. After stepping down, she joined the advisory council and remained involved with the organization.

She currently serves as a distinguished professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and holds the Garman Turner Gordon Professorship of Law at the William S. Boyd School of Law.

Her expertise includes business ethics, governance and donor relations, areas that align with the museum’s long-term strategic priorities.

Three new advisory council members appointed

The museum also announced three new members to its advisory council.

Eric Dezenhall brings experience as an investigative journalist and crisis communications strategist. He is the founder of Dezenhall Resources and has written extensively on organized crime and reputation management.

Larry Gragg joins the council as a leading scholar on Las Vegas history. He is a distinguished teaching professor emeritus at Missouri University of Science and Technology and has authored numerous books on the development of Las Vegas and organized crime figures.

Ashley Hlebinsky adds expertise in firearms history and museum leadership. She previously led the Cody Firearms Museum and has advised major institutions, including the Smithsonian Institution and National Park Service.

Together, the new advisory members expand the museum’s access to knowledge across history, media and public policy.

Advisory council supports museum mission

The advisory council plays a key role in shaping the museum’s direction.

Chaired by founding board chairwoman Ellen B. Knowlton, the council includes professionals from law enforcement, academia, media and cultural institutions.

Their input helps guide exhibitions, educational programming and community engagement initiatives. As a result, the museum continues to evolve its content while maintaining historical accuracy.

New senior director of sales appointed

In addition to board and advisory updates, the museum has appointed Laurae Clifford as senior director of sales.

Clifford will lead strategic sales initiatives, partnerships and revenue development efforts.

She brings more than 20 years of experience in the meetings and conventions industry. Her previous roles include leadership positions with Wynn Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Rio Las Vegas.

Clifford is also a Las Vegas native and has previously served on the museum’s advisory council. Her background in hospitality and business development is expected to support the museum’s continued growth.

Expanding leadership reflects evolving institution

The leadership updates highlight the museum’s effort to strengthen its organizational structure.

By bringing together experts from multiple disciplines, the museum aims to enhance its exhibitions and educational offerings.

The changes also support its broader goal of increasing its national profile while maintaining strong ties to the local community.
