Neurapix Culling: AI Photo Selection for Lightroom

Neurapix, the Germany-based company behind the well-known AI photo editing plugin for Adobe Lightroom Classic, has released a new feature called Neurapix Culling (Beta). This update adds fast, integrated image selection to Lightroom and is now available as a free beta for all photographers.

Fast Image Selection Built Into Lightroom

Neurapix Culling (Beta) is included in the standard Neurapix plugin. After launching the tool, users see their Lightroom catalog in a clean, customizable grid. All images load instantly for fast browsing. Photographers can flag, star, or color-label their favorites using familiar Lightroom commands. Each selection updates live within the Lightroom catalog. When finished, users simply close the window and continue editing.

AI Features Built for Real Workflows

The plugin introduces optional AI tools to assist with image sorting. Grouped view lets users quickly scan through burst shots and pick the strongest image in the set. Eyes open detection shows who blinked and who didn’t, especially helpful for group photos. The looking at the camera feature identifies which subjects make direct eye contact with the lens. Smiling detection highlights expressions to help choose the best moments. These features enhance speed while leaving full control in the photographer’s hands.

Smart, Simple, and Secure

The focus behind the new feature is speed and reliability. According to Neurapix CEO Nils Sauder, many photographers still hesitate to trust AI with full image selection. That’s why this beta release puts the human in control and AI in a supportive role. More tools are in the works, but automated sorting will not be part of the beta. All functions run locally, and no data or images leave the user’s computer. Privacy remains a top priority.

How to Access Neurapix Culling (Beta)

To access the tool, users must update their Neurapix plugin for Lightroom Classic. Once updated, the new menu item appears under Library > Plug-in Extras. An automatic alert appears the next time Lightroom is opened, but the update can also be done manually through the Plug-in Manager. Neurapix Culling works with or without using the brand’s image editing tools.

Future Growth and Continuous Development

The release of Neurapix Culling (Beta) is only the beginning. New AI features are currently in development and will roll out over time. Neurapix continues to listen to professional feedback while building tools that match the daily needs of working photographers. The current beta version is free to use and fully operational Just Now News.
