New hotel project set to transform delegate experience by 2027
WARWICKSHIRE, UK — The British Motor Museum has confirmed the start of work on a major new hotel development that will reshape its offer for business events and visitors. A 142-bedroom Fairfield by Marriott hotel is now under construction next to the venue, with completion set for May 2027 and opening planned for June 2027.
The project marks a milestone for both the Museum and Marriott, as it will become the first Fairfield by Marriott property in the United Kingdom. As a result, organisers can expect a new level of convenience when planning conferences, meetings and multi-day events at the site.

A boost for conferences and multi-day events
The British Motor Museum already stands as one of the UK’s most distinctive event venues. It hosts meetings, exhibitions and large-scale programmes across flexible indoor and outdoor spaces. However, until now, nearby accommodation has required additional travel planning for delegates.
The new hotel will change that. Guests will stay within walking distance of the venue, which will make early starts, late networking and multi-day schedules far easier to manage. In turn, organisers will gain a smoother and more efficient event flow.
Moreover, the Museum can host groups ranging from small meetings of six people to major conferences of up to 600 delegates. Its Conference and Exhibition Suite offers direct vehicle access and more than 2,255 square metres of space. In addition, the venue includes 65 acres of outdoor grounds for launches, displays and team-building activities.
Therefore, the addition of on-site accommodation strengthens the Museum’s ability to compete with larger, fully integrated conference destinations.

Designed for simplicity and comfort
Fairfield by Marriott focuses on simplicity, comfort and reliability. The brand aims to deliver a consistent experience for business and leisure travellers who value efficiency and rest.
The hotel will offer 142 bedrooms in its first phase. Furthermore, developers have outlined a potential second phase that could add 98 more rooms if demand grows. This flexible approach ensures the site can scale alongside future event needs.
Cycas Hospitality will manage the hotel. As a result, guests can expect professional service standards aligned with Marriott’s global reputation.
Toby Batchelor, Head of Commerce at the British Motor Museum, highlighted the importance of the project. He explained that nearby accommodation will make a real difference for organizers and delegates alike.
He said the hotel will help teams stay focused, reduce travel stress and improve the overall event experience. He also noted that while the hotel operates independently, close collaboration will ensure strong benefits for visitors and planners.

Strengthening a unique destination
The British Motor Museum holds the world’s largest collection of historic British cars. At the same time, it continues to grow as a leading conference and event venue in the UK.
This new development supports that growth. It allows the Museum to attract a wider range of business events, including residential conferences, international gatherings and longer programmes.
In addition, the Museum operates as a charity. Income from events, visitors and partnerships helps fund its work to preserve and share automotive history. Therefore, the hotel will also play a role in supporting its long-term sustainability.
Looking ahead, the combination of a unique heritage setting and modern accommodation creates a compelling offer. Organisers can now plan events that balance inspiration, convenience and comfort in one location.

Opening timeline and next steps
Construction is now underway, with practical completion scheduled for May 2027. The hotel is expected to open the following month.
As development progresses, the British Motor Museum will continue working with partners to ensure the project meets the needs of both event organisers and general visitors.
Ultimately, the Fairfield by Marriott hotel represents a major step forward. It brings together heritage, hospitality and functionality in a way that strengthens the venue’s position in the UK events market.
