Southern Nevada Scholarship for Aspiring Trade Professionals

LAS VEGAS — A new scholarship program is giving aspiring trade professionals in Southern Nevada an opportunity to launch a rewarding career without the burden of tuition costs.

Quality Training Centers (QTC) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Las Vegas Chapter 74 have announced a new full-tuition scholarship designed to help students enter some of the region’s fastest-growing skilled trades.

Valued at $8,900, the scholarship will cover 100% of tuition for one student enrolled in QTC’s 12-week hands-on training program in HVAC, electrical or refrigeration. Additionally, the recipient will receive an introductory tool kit to begin training.

Applications are now open and will be accepted through July 24, 2026.

Addressing Southern Nevada’s workforce needs

Southern Nevada continues experiencing strong demand for qualified technicians across the construction and skilled trades industries.

The new partnership aims to remove financial barriers while helping employers find trained workers ready to enter the workforce.

Quality Training Centers has operated in Las Vegas since 1993 and remains the region’s only trade school owned and operated by contractors.

As a result, students train in an environment designed around real job-site conditions rather than traditional classroom instruction.

Chris Roth, co-owner of Quality Training Centers, said the scholarship is intended to help motivated individuals begin careers that offer long-term stability and advancement opportunities.

Morning, afternoon and evening classes allow students to continue working while completing their training.

Partnership creates pathway to success

NAWIC Las Vegas Chapter brings another important component to the program.

Beyond financial assistance, the organization provides mentorship, professional networking opportunities and leadership development for people pursuing careers in construction.

According to NAWIC Las Vegas Chapter President Yessica Romero, the partnership creates a pathway connecting education with long-term career growth.

Furthermore, organizers hope the scholarship encourages more individuals to explore opportunities within the skilled trades.

The selected student will also document their educational journey to inspire future applicants considering similar career paths.

Scholarship requirements

Applicants must meet several eligibility requirements before being considered.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and cannot already be enrolled at Quality Training Centers.

Additionally, each applicant must complete an in-person campus tour and submit an application at the QTC campus.

Successful applicants must also be prepared to begin training within approximately 30 days of being selected.

Finalists will be evaluated based on their commitment to pursuing a skilled trade career, readiness for training and potential for future employment.

Representatives from both QTC and NAWIC Las Vegas Chapter will participate in the selection process.

Preparing tomorrow’s workforce

Skilled trades continue offering strong career opportunities throughout Southern Nevada.

Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and electrical technicians remain in high demand as residential and commercial development continues expanding across the region.

Programs like this scholarship help connect motivated individuals with industries offering stable employment and long-term career growth.

Interested applicants can schedule a campus tour by emailing jasmine@qualitytrainingcenters.com before the July 24 application deadline.
