On Armed Forces Day, National Technical Institute (NTI) opened its doors to honor veterans ready for a new chapter. The May 17, 2025 Open House offered a hands-on look into life after service through high-demand training in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical careers. As a state-approved trade school, NTI is helping fill critical skilled labor gaps across the country—starting right here in Henderson, Nevada.
A personal tour of NTI’s advanced training labs with Campus Director Kodi Wilson
During the open house, I received a guided tour from Kodi Wilson, NTI’s Campus Director. Walking through the training labs, it was easy to see the school’s strong commitment to real-world preparation. Every station was equipped with current tools and systems used on today’s job sites.
Wilson explained how veterans benefit from short, intensive programs and flexible schedules, built to help them transition quickly into long-term careers. This one-on-one insight gave me a true understanding of NTI’s mission—to support veterans through training that matters.
Veterans explore career change options and education benefits
The event focused heavily on helping veterans take the next step through fast-track education. NTI accepts both Veteran Education Benefits and Vocational Rehab Benefits, allowing many students to train with little to no out-of-pocket costs. These programs not only speed up entry into the workforce but also support veterans in creating financial stability.
Open house draws future tradespeople and community supporters
The May 17 event included more than just school tours. Guests enjoyed live demonstrations, spoke directly with veteran instructors, and experienced NTI’s working labs up close. The first 50 attendees received free hats, and everyone was treated to a complimentary taco bar. A surprise giveaway added extra excitement, creating a welcoming and festive vibe.
This wasn’t just a recruiting event—it was a celebration of veterans and their continued value in the workforce.
Training that works—fast, flexible, and proven
Founded in 2003, NTI offers in-person and hybrid training programs designed around real life. Their unique Fusion Training Program combines online coursework with weekend or weekday lab classes—offered in both morning and evening options. It’s perfect for working adults or veterans balancing family and career goals.
Campuses in Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Houston, NTI continues to expand its reach while staying focused on quality and community impact.
Veterans bring discipline, drive, and talent to the trades
There’s a growing need for skilled labor across the U.S., and NTI sees veterans as part of the solution. Their leadership, discipline, and adaptability make them ideal candidates for careers in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical fields. NTI is filling the gap, one student at a time—with programs built for results.
For veterans considering a new path, this NTI Open House was more than just a tour. It was a call to action. To learn more, visit NTItraining.com.
