Ukrainian Fashion Resistance
Pitti Uomo reserves a prime slot for Angel For Fashion at its 108th edition. This act shows solidarity and celebrates creative resistance through design, epitomizing the Ukrainian Fashion Resistance movement. It proves how style can fuel a cause and inspire action.

Pitti Uomo spotlights Ukrainian talent
The fair runs June 17–20 in Florence’s Central Pavilion. Visit Booth A/5, top floor in the Futuro Maschile section. There, GUDU, GUNIA Project, and THEO blend art and activism for elite buyers and press. Editors from Milan, Paris, and London will attend to witness the Ukrainian Fashion Resistance in action. Retail scouts will uncover the next big trend.
Angel For Fashion launched in April 2022, thirty days into the war. It rallied Ukrainian designers to reopen studios under fire, exemplifying Ukrainian Fashion Resistance. Today, it ships to six continents, 45 countries, and over 200 cities. It also partners with twelve boutiques across Europe and Asia. Anya Vasylenko, VP of Sales, expanded its reach into major retail chains. The platform champions independent talent despite immense challenges.

GUDU’s avant-garde tailoring
GUDU, led by Lasha Mdinaradze, redefines modern tailoring with bold lines. He blends Italian wool with Ukrainian silk in every coat and blazer. Silhouettes include asymmetrical overcoats and sculpted jackets. His designs contribute to the Ukrainian Fashion Resistance, with leather pieces ranging from €800 to €1,200. Last year’s runway show in Kyiv drew 2,000 guests. His atelier employs eight seamstresses in Kyiv who handcraft each stitch. He will be available for press on June 18.

Gunia Project revives heritage craft
GUNIA Project, co-founded by Natalia Kamenska and Maria Gavryliuk, honors Ukraine’s artisanal legacy. They partner with 30 master craftsmen in weaving, pottery, and jewelry. Their range spans embroidered linen dresses (€250) to hand-turned ceramic vases (€120). Their work is a testament to the Ukrainian Fashion Resistance. They produce bespoke handbags with traditional clasps. They host live workshops in Lviv to pass techniques to a new generation. Natalia will sit for interviews on June 19.

THEO’s boundary-breaking designs
THEO, by Teodor Dekan, blurs gender lines with unisex denim and outerwear. His zero-waste cutting methods reduce fabric waste to under 5%, aligning with the principles of the Ukrainian Fashion Resistance. Although he cannot attend due to travel restrictions, his vision lives on at Booth A/5. His team in Kyiv prepares each item by hand.
