LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA (November 2025) – Families and outdoor enthusiasts can once again celebrate the holidays on the Colorado River. Hoover Dam rafting adventures will return this December with its popular “Rafting with Santa” tours, offering a festive mix of nature, fun, and holiday cheer.
Holiday Event on the River
The seasonal program runs from Wednesday, Dec. 17, through Sunday, Dec. 21, and again on Christmas Eve. The 12-mile route flows through the scenic Black Canyon, with Santa Claus and his helpers leading the way.
Each raft trip offers breathtaking canyon views, smooth water, and a chance to learn about the Colorado River’s history and wildlife. The adventure begins near the base of the Hoover Dam and ends at Willow Beach Marina. Guests enjoy hot chocolate, candy canes, and photos with Santa at the finish.
Packages and Pricing
Lake Mead Mohave Adventures (LMMA), which operates Hoover Dam rafting adventures, has announced special holiday pricing:
- Family Bundle – $250 for three guests (two adults and one child; children four and under free)
- Additional Adult – $99 | Additional Child – $75
- Couples Special – $199 for two adults
- Adult + Child Deal – $175 for one adult and one youth
- Individual Pricing – Adults $100 | Youth $88
Each package includes a boxed lunch, souvenir cooler bag, bottled water, and a collectible holiday ornament.
Tour Information
The “Rafting with Santa” tours depart daily at 10 a.m. Guests should arrive by 9:30 a.m. at Lake Mead RV Village, 268 Lakeshore Road, Boulder City, Nevada.
Adult admission does not include the $15 National Park entrance fee, which is waived for visitors with National Park, Golden Age, Eagle, or Access passes. Round-trip transportation from select Las Vegas hotels is available for $69 per person.
