SITE Incentive Summit 2026: A New Era for Incentive Travel

The SITE Incentive Summit Americas 2026 has marked a milestone for the incentive travel industry after hosting its first cruise-based event aboard Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas.

Held from 13 to 16 March, the summit brought together incentive travel professionals from across the Americas for a sailing from Miami to The Bahamas. The program combined education, networking and destination discovery while highlighting the growing role of cruise products within incentive travel.

A new format for incentive travel events

Organized by the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence, the SITE Incentive Summit Americas 2026 was designed as an intimate gathering focused on meaningful business connections between buyers and suppliers.

Hosting the summit at sea allowed attendees to experience cruise products first-hand while participating in professional discussions about the future of incentive travel programs. The event also reflects the industry’s ongoing shift toward more immersive and experiential formats for meetings and incentive events.

Education and networking at sea

Throughout the sailing, delegates took part in a balanced programme that combined structured business meetings with informal networking opportunities.

A new Partner Marketplace debuted during the summit, creating a dedicated environment for buyers to meet participating partners before moving into a curated gifting experience. Education sessions held across the sailing explored practical insights, industry trends and the expanding role of cruise experiences in incentive travel.

The cruise setting created an environment where conversations continued naturally beyond the traditional conference format.

Experiencing destinations in The Bahamas

The programme also included time for destination immersion.

Delegates visited Perfect Day at CocoCay, where attendees explored the destination in a flexible format designed to reflect the type of experiences many incentive planners seek for their programmes.

The visit provided leisure time, informal hosting opportunities and networking before participants reconvened onboard later in the evening.

CSR activities and future destination announcement

The final day of the summit continued with education sessions followed by community-focused CSR activities in Nassau.

During the programme, organisers also revealed the next destination in the Incentive Summit Americas journey: Snowmass.

Cruise incentives gaining industry attention

Hosting the event aboard Wonder of the Seas demonstrated how cruise environments can support both business interaction and destination exploration within one programme.

Cruise-based incentive programmes allow groups to experience multiple destinations while remaining together in a cohesive setting. For many planners, this combination of mobility, hospitality and built-in entertainment continues to make cruise products an appealing option.
