IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 19, 2025 — In an effort to enhance motorcycle safety nationwide, the National Motorcycle Safety Fund (NMSF) has announced its 2025 grant program, offering ten grants of $5,000 each to fund innovative safety projects. Individuals and organizations passionate about road safety and motorcycling advocacy are encouraged to apply before the March 31, 2025, deadline.
Funding Safety Initiatives That Make a Difference
The NMSF’s grant program aims to support projects that prioritize rider safety, increase awareness among other motorists, and contribute to safety research. Christy LaCurelle, President and CEO of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), emphasized the importance of broad participation:
“We’ve gotten some great responses so far, but we want to make sure everyone in the motorcycling, transportation, and safety communities are aware of this program. The NMSF board is optimistic that these grants can help make a difference for riders and other roadway users across the country.”
This initiative presents a unique opportunity for safety advocates to implement impactful ideas at the local, regional, or national levels.

Three Key Focus Areas for Grant Applications
While applicants are welcome to propose projects beyond specific categories, the NMSF has highlighted three primary areas where funding could make the greatest impact:
- Motorcyclists and Potential Riders – Encouraging safe riding habits from the start, ensuring new and experienced riders prioritize safety.
- Car and Truck Drivers – Raising awareness among non-motorcycle motorists to reduce accidents and promote shared-road safety.
- Veterans – Supporting safety initiatives specifically designed for those who have served in the military.
