Credit One Bank Strengthens Southern Nevada Through Fill the Bus School Supply Drive

Credit One Bank has successfully hosted its annual Fill the Bus School Supply Drive for the ninth year, benefiting local students in Southern Nevada through donations of school supplies and a $5,050 monetary contribution. The initiative supports Communities In Schools of Nevada and the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, helping students prepare for the school year.

LAS VEGAS — Credit One Bank has once again helped local students prepare for the new school year through the annual Fill the Bus School Supply Drive. The campaign supports Communities In Schools of Nevada and the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. Both organizations help students across Southern Nevada receive essential school supplies before classes begin.

This year marked the ninth consecutive year that Credit One Bank has supported the community-wide effort. During a four-week employee giving campaign, team members collected hundreds of classroom supplies. Employees donated more than 600 pencils, over 600 boxes of crayons, nearly 300 notebooks and more than 2,500 sheets of notebook paper. The Bank also presented a monetary donation of $5,050.

Stephanie McHugh, Vice President of Organizational Development and Employee Engagement at Credit One Bank, said the company remains focused on helping students succeed.

“At Credit One Bank, we’re committed to setting people up for what’s ahead, and for the students of Southern Nevada, that’s their journey back to school,” McHugh said. “Knowing roughly 25% of students go back to school without the supplies they need, we’re proud to support initiatives like Fill the Bus for the ninth consecutive year.”

Employees make a difference

The success of the campaign reflects the generosity of Credit One Bank employees. Their donations will help students begin the school year with the supplies they need for the classroom.

The Fill the Bus campaign has become one of Southern Nevada’s most recognized back-to-school programs. Every donation helps reduce the financial burden many families face before school starts.

Communities In Schools of Nevada and the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth will distribute the supplies to students throughout the Las Vegas Valley. As a result, children will receive backpacks, notebooks, crayons, pencils and other classroom essentials before the first day of school.

Education remains a priority

Credit One Bank continues supporting education throughout the year. Earlier this year, the company awarded $300,000 in scholarships to 30 Southern Nevada students through its One For The Community Scholarship Program.

The scholarships were awarded in partnership with the Public Education Foundation and Project 150. The program helps students continue their education after high school while pursuing long-term career goals.

Credit One Bank regularly partners with nonprofit organizations that strengthen education and improve opportunities for local families.
