Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum will debut a new traveling exhibition this spring, bringing one of the largest arachnid showcases in the country to Southern Nevada.
The Art & Science of Arachnids Las Vegas exhibit will open to the public on Saturday, March 21, and remain on display through August 23. The exhibition is part of the museum’s summer traveling exhibition series and will feature live animals, interactive displays and educational programming.

Traveling exhibit brings hands-on science to Las Vegas
The exhibition, produced by Little Ray’s Exhibitions, is designed to offer an accessible and engaging look at arachnids.
Visitors will encounter a range of species, including spiders and scorpions, presented in safe, educational environments. In addition, the exhibit incorporates large-scale visual displays and artistic elements to highlight the influence of arachnids across science and culture.
As a result, the experience combines biology, art and storytelling in a format aimed at both families and school groups.

Opening day event to feature interactive programming
To mark the launch, the museum will host a grand opening celebration on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will include hands-on activities, guided demonstrations and live educational sessions led by trained staff. Visitors will be able to explore web-building techniques, examine arachnid molts and learn about fossilized species.
Meanwhile, interactive stations will allow guests to experiment with silk properties and create themed artwork. The opening day activities are included with standard admission.
Exhibit aims to challenge misconceptions
The Art & Science of Arachnids Las Vegas exhibit also focuses on education and awareness.
Arachnids are often misunderstood, with many people associating them only with spiders. However, the category includes a wider range of species that play important roles in ecosystems.
Through close observation and guided learning, the exhibit encourages visitors to reconsider these perceptions. As a result, the museum hopes to promote a better understanding of biodiversity and ecological balance.
Part of ongoing exhibition series
The exhibit is included in the museum’s Engelstad Foundation Traveling Exhibition Series, which brings nationally recognized exhibitions to Las Vegas.
This program allows the museum to rotate new content throughout the year while maintaining its focus on science education.
In addition, the exhibition aligns with the museum’s broader mission to provide accessible learning experiences for the local community.
Established museum continues to expand programming
Founded in 1989, the Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum has grown into a key educational institution in the region.
The museum is a Smithsonian Affiliate and an accredited member of the American Alliance of Museums. It also serves as a repository for fossils and artifacts.
Visitors can explore exhibits covering natural history, wildlife and global ecosystems. Therefore, the museum continues to attract families, students and tourists throughout the year.
With the addition of the Art & Science of Arachnids Las Vegas exhibit, the museum is expanding its lineup of interactive and immersive experiences.
