YMCA students receive VIP Las Vegas Aviators experience focused on financial literacy and opportunity
LAS VEGAS — The sounds of baseball echoed across Las Vegas Ballpark on Tuesday night as the Las Vegas Aviators battled the Reno Aces. Fans cheered from every corner of the stadium. However, one group of young guests experienced the game from a very different perspective.
Dozens of students from the YMCA of Southern Nevada gathered on the exclusive pool deck overlooking the field. The students were invited by Credit One Bank as part of its “Number One Fan” initiative, a community program that combines memorable experiences with financial education.
JUST NOW NEWS attended the event and witnessed an evening that blended baseball, community engagement, and lessons designed to help young people prepare for their futures.
The event created an atmosphere that felt equal parts celebration and education.

Pool deck experience creates lasting memories
Located beyond the outfield, the pool deck offers one of the most unique views inside Las Vegas Ballpark.
Students watched the game from a premium location while enjoying food, refreshments, and activities throughout the evening.
Many spent time swimming and cheering for the Aviators. Others gathered with friends while enjoying the atmosphere surrounding the game.
For several students, the event marked their first opportunity to experience professional baseball from a VIP setting.
The excitement was evident long before the first pitch.
Organizers said creating memorable experiences helps young people feel connected to their community while encouraging them to explore new opportunities.

Financial literacy takes center stage
While baseball provided the backdrop, financial education remained the focus of the evening.
Credit One Bank used the event to reinforce the importance of saving money and building strong financial habits at a young age.
The company also announced a $15,000 donation to the YMCA of Southern Nevada.
According to organizers, the funds will help participating students establish savings accounts while supporting financial literacy education and money management programs.
The goal is simple.
Teach young people skills that can benefit them throughout their lives.
Financial literacy continues to be a growing area of focus for educators and community leaders across the country.
Many students graduate without receiving formal instruction on budgeting, saving, or financial planning.
Programs like Number One Fan seek to help close that gap.
Credit One Bank highlights community investment
During the event, JUST NOW NEWS spoke with Christina Ortiz, Senior Manager of Sponsorships at Credit One Bank.
Ortiz said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to investing in local communities and creating opportunities for young people.
She explained that the program is about much more than attending a baseball game.
According to Ortiz, experiences like this help students understand that financial success begins with small decisions and consistent habits.
She also stressed the importance of introducing those concepts early.
Ortiz noted that partnerships with organizations like the YMCA allow Credit One Bank to connect directly with students and families throughout Southern Nevada.
She said those relationships help ensure resources reach the people who can benefit from them most.
The partnership, she explained, creates opportunities that can have an impact long after the final inning.

YMCA continues mission of youth development
The YMCA of Southern Nevada serves thousands of children and families through educational programs, youth activities, and community outreach efforts.
The organization has long focused on helping young people build confidence, leadership skills, and healthy habits.
Financial literacy has become an increasingly important part of that mission.
Leaders from the YMCA praised the partnership and welcomed the additional resources provided through the Credit One Bank donation.
Programs focused on saving and financial responsibility continue gaining importance as students prepare for future educational and career opportunities.
The support announced Tuesday will help expand access to those programs.

Aviators deliver exciting victory
The baseball game itself provided plenty of excitement.
The Las Vegas Aviators defeated the Reno Aces 6-5 in a closely contested Pacific Coast League matchup.
Las Vegas built an early lead and appeared in control for much of the night.
However, Reno continued fighting and mounted a late comeback attempt.
The Aces placed the tying run on base during the ninth inning.
The Aviators responded by recording the final outs and securing the victory.
The win marked a strong start to a six-game rivalry series between Nevada’s two Triple-A clubs.
Students on the pool deck followed every moment of the action.
The close finish added another memorable element to an already special evening.
Copa celebration energizes the crowd
Tuesday’s game also featured a Copa de la Diversión celebration.
For the event, the Aviators took the field as the Las Vegas Reyes de Plata, or Silver Kings.
The annual program celebrates Hispanic culture and community through special team identities and promotions.
Fans embraced the celebration throughout the ballpark.
The festive atmosphere added energy and excitement to the rivalry matchup.
It also provided students with an opportunity to experience another aspect of Minor League Baseball’s community-focused approach.
More than a game
By the end of the evening, the final score seemed secondary.
Students left with memories of a dramatic baseball game and a unique VIP experience.
More importantly, they left with exposure to financial concepts that could help shape their futures.
The event demonstrated how sports can serve as a platform for education, opportunity, and community engagement.
Credit One Bank, the YMCA of Southern Nevada, and the Las Vegas Aviators came together to create something larger than a baseball game.
They created an experience designed to inspire the next generation.
For the students gathered on the pool deck Tuesday night, that may prove to be the most valuable takeaway of all.
