LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA — Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina is preparing for a busy Fourth of July weekend. The popular Lake Mohave destination will offer live entertainment, food specials and exciting watercraft performances.
Located about one hour south of Las Vegas, Cottonwood Cove provides a scenic escape from the city’s summer heat. This year, the resort is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with a full schedule of family-friendly activities.
Visitors can enjoy lake recreation during the day. Later, they can relax with live music, food and evening entertainment.

World champion Mark Gomez headlines celebration
The biggest attraction arrives on Saturday, July 4.
Five-time world champion freestyle rider Mark Gomez of JETEFX will perform two jet ski stunt shows. His first performance begins at 5:30 p.m. Meanwhile, his second show starts at 7:30 p.m.
The evening performance will feature patriotic red, white and blue LED lighting effects. Therefore, guests can expect a unique combination of action and visual entertainment.
The shows take place near the marina café. Visitors may watch from several viewing areas. In addition, guests can reserve a spot in the popular splash zone by contacting the resort.

Live music and barbecue complete the evening
The holiday fun continues after the stunt performances.
An all-American barbecue dinner will be served from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests can enjoy traditional favorites while overlooking beautiful Lake Mohave.
At the same time, the Velvet Moon Band will perform live music beginning at 6 p.m. The performance will continue throughout the evening.
Additionally, the marina bar will remain open from 4 p.m. until at least 10 p.m. As a result, visitors can enjoy food, drinks and entertainment in one location.

Patriotic food specials offered all weekend
The celebration extends beyond July 4.
Throughout the holiday weekend, guests can purchase special breakfast and lunch items. Popular offerings include red, white and blue pancakes and barbecue hot dogs with all the fixings.
The resort store will feature merchandise specials. Select souvenirs will be available for just $2.50. The price honors America’s 250th anniversary.
The café will also offer extended holiday hours. Consequently, visitors will have more opportunities to enjoy meals during their stay.

Lodging still available
Travelers looking for a holiday getaway still have options.
Space remains available at the Cottonwood Cove Motel. The motel sits just steps from the shoreline. Guests can also reserve RV sites with full hookups.
