LAS VEGAS — Following a successful media day attended by Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley and numerous community leaders, The Evel Knievel Experience is now officially open full-time in Downtown Las Vegas.
The highly anticipated attraction celebrated its public debut during a festival weekend on Saturday, June 27, drawing visitors from across Southern Nevada and beyond to the Arts District. Today, the interactive museum welcomes guests daily and offers an immersive journey through the life and legacy of America’s most famous daredevil.
Located at 1001 S. First Street, The Evel Knievel Experience combines historic artifacts, interactive exhibits, virtual reality attractions and rare memorabilia to create one of Las Vegas’ newest entertainment destinations.
The opening marks a significant milestone for the award-winning collection, which first gained international recognition as the Evel Knievel Museum in Topeka, Kansas. After years of success and extensive planning, the expanded attraction has found a new home in a city known for entertainment, excitement and larger-than-life experiences.

Media day showcases attraction to Nevada leaders
The launch festivities began with an exclusive media day that welcomed elected officials, tourism executives, local business leaders and members of the media.
Governor Lombardo and Mayor Berkley toured the facility while learning about the museum’s vision and anticipated impact on tourism within Downtown Las Vegas.
Guests explored exhibits showcasing Evel Knievel’s career, viewed some of his most famous motorcycles and examined artifacts that helped shape one of the most recognizable brands in American pop culture history.
The event generated significant excitement ahead of the public opening and highlighted the attraction’s potential to become a major destination within the Arts District.

Festival weekend draws large crowds
A few days later, the public officially received its first opportunity to experience the attraction.
The June 27 festival transformed the surrounding area into a celebration of Evel Knievel’s remarkable life and career. Visitors explored exhibits, viewed the legendary “Big Red” Mack truck and participated in opening-day activities throughout the property.
Families, motorcycle enthusiasts, tourists and longtime Evel Knievel fans gathered to witness the official opening.
Many guests described the attraction as one of the most unique additions to Downtown Las Vegas in recent years.
As a result, organizers considered the opening weekend a major success.

Rare artifacts highlight an extraordinary career
Visitors can now explore what many consider the largest collection of Evel Knievel artifacts in the world.
Among the most popular exhibits are Knievel’s iconic red, white and blue jumpsuits. These instantly recognizable outfits became symbols of his fearless personality and unmatched showmanship.
The museum also features the actual motorcycles used during many of his famous jumps.
Guests can view the Snake River Canyon Skycycle X-2, one of the most ambitious stunt vehicles ever built.
Another major highlight is Knievel’s Caesars Palace jump helmet. The artifact remains one of the most important pieces in the collection because it helped save his life during the infamous 1967 crash that left him hospitalized for weeks.
The collection extends far beyond motorcycles and jumpsuits. Visitors can also see jewelry, canes, wardrobe pieces, photographs, documents and personal memorabilia from throughout his career.

Interactive experiences place visitors inside the action
Unlike traditional museums, The Evel Knievel Experience encourages active participation.
One of the attraction’s signature experiences is a 4D virtual reality jump simulator. Visitors sit on a rumbling motorcycle platform, wear a custom helmet and experience the sensation of attempting one of Knievel’s death-defying stunts.
The Jump Planner attraction challenges guests to design their own jump and discover whether they can successfully land it.
Another exhibit, Bad to the Bones, explores the numerous injuries and broken bones Knievel suffered throughout his career.
These immersive experiences help visitors understand the incredible risks that accompanied every jump.

“Big Red” becomes a centerpiece attraction
Perhaps the most visually impressive exhibit is the fully restored “Big Red” Mack truck and trailer.
Earlier this year, the massive vehicle arrived in Las Vegas after a restoration project completed by more than 90 craftsmen. The truck once served as Evel Knievel’s touring headquarters and traveled thousands of miles across North America.
Today, visitors can stand beside the giant vehicle and appreciate the scale of Knievel’s operation.
Mike Patterson, co-founder and CEO of The Evel Knievel Experience, said the attraction offers something beyond a traditional museum visit.
“The collection is extraordinary on its own, but what makes this experience different is the opportunity to step directly inside Evel Knievel’s story,” Patterson said.
The Evel Knievel Experience is now open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is expected to become one of Downtown Las Vegas’ premier attractions.
