LAS VEGAS — Station Casinos is celebrating a major milestone this month as the company marks 50 years of serving Las Vegas residents and helping shape the city’s local gaming industry.
The month-long celebration honors five decades of growth, innovation and community involvement. Throughout July, guests can enjoy fireworks displays, live entertainment, gaming promotions, commemorative collectibles and special food and beverage offerings across multiple Station Casinos properties.

From a small casino to a Las Vegas success story
The Station Casinos story began on July 1, 1976, when Frank Fertitta Jr. opened a modest 5,000-square-foot gaming venue called “The Casino” near Sahara Avenue.
At the time, most gaming activity centered on the Las Vegas Strip and downtown. Fertitta believed local residents deserved a convenient entertainment destination closer to home. His vision proved successful.
The property later became the Bingo Palace before evolving into Palace Station, which remains one of the company’s most recognizable locations today.
Over the following decades, Station Casinos expanded throughout Southern Nevada. The company now operates 20 entertainment destinations, including Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Durango Casino & Resort, Boulder Station, Sunset Station and Santa Fe Station.

A month of anniversary celebrations
The anniversary festivities began with a fireworks and drone show at Palace Station. Meanwhile, Independence Day celebrations featured spectacular fireworks displays at several Station Casinos properties across the Las Vegas Valley.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of live entertainment throughout the month. Scheduled performances include nationally recognized acts such as Grace Potter, Los Lonely Boys, Cole Swindell and One Night of Queen.
In addition, Station Casinos has installed vintage-style photo booths at several properties. Guests can purchase commemorative photo strips and digital copies to remember the anniversary celebration.

Special offers for guests
Throughout July, Boarding Pass members can receive exclusive anniversary gifts, including custom windbreakers, hats, T-shirts and quarter-zip pullovers.
The company is also offering commemorative collector’s chips, branded cards and special VIP parking passes for eligible guests.
Furthermore, players who hit slot jackpots of $2,000 or more can receive retro-style satin casino jackets as part of the “Jackets for Jackpots” promotion.
Food and beverage specials are another highlight of the celebration. Guests can enjoy $1.99 margaritas, $3 beer-and-shot specials and affordable late-night dining deals at participating locations.
Honoring team members and the community
Station Casinos is using its anniversary to recognize the people who helped build the company.
Today, the organization employs more than 9,700 team members across Southern Nevada. More than 1,300 employees have worked for the company for over 20 years, demonstrating remarkable loyalty and dedication.
The company also plans to give back to the community by contributing 1,976 volunteer hours to local organizations, including Three Square Food Bank, Public Education Foundation partner schools and Clean the World.
“As Las Vegas has changed tremendously over the years, one thing has remained the same,” said Frank Fertitta IV, Senior Vice President of Operations for Station Casinos. “We are still a family-run company committed to delivering great value, genuine hospitality and a place where locals can come together to have fun, relax and make memories.”
Fifty years after opening its first property, Station Casinos continues to play a vital role in the Las Vegas community while honoring the local-first vision that started it all.
