Annual Golf United event brings together community leaders, golfers, and sponsors at Red Rock Country Club
LAS VEGAS – May 22, 2026 — United Way of Southern Nevada brought together golfers, business leaders, and community supporters earlier this week for its annual Golf United Tournament presented by Del Taco at Red Rock Country Club.
The event took place Monday, May 18, and welcomed more than 100 golfers from across Southern Nevada. Participants spent the day on the course while helping raise funds for programs that support families, young people, and individuals facing difficult circumstances throughout the region.
Organizers said the annual tournament continues to serve as both a community fundraiser and a networking event focused on giving back.

Tournament combines golf and community impact
Golfers began the morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start and played 18 holes against the backdrop of the Red Rock Canyon ridgeline. Throughout the day, participants took part in contests, silent auction opportunities, and on-course activities designed to engage players while supporting local causes.
Former NFL cornerback Mark McMillian joined golfers during the event and interacted with participants on the course. McMillian played professionally for teams including the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
Meanwhile, PGA professional Tilly Gretsch provided on-course instruction and tips throughout the tournament. Gretsch serves as founder of Gretsch Golf Academy and head of instruction.
In addition, golfers competed in several contests during the day. One of the most popular events was the longest drive competition, where the winner received a signed Vegas Golden Knights jersey.

Silent auction highlights exclusive prizes
The excitement continued off the course with a silent auction featuring several high-profile prizes. One featured item included an exclusive foursome experience at The Summit Club.
Organizers said the auction helped increase fundraising efforts while also encouraging participation from supporters and sponsors attending the tournament.
As a result, the event combined entertainment and philanthropy in a way that encouraged strong community involvement throughout the day.
Funds support programs across Southern Nevada
All proceeds from the Golf United Tournament support United Way of Southern Nevada programs and services. These initiatives focus on helping young people succeed in school, supporting financial stability for families, improving access to health care, and assisting households during times of crisis.
United Way leaders said community events like the tournament remain important because they create direct support for local residents in need.
Samuel Rudd, president and CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada, praised the turnout and community support shown during the event.
“The success of our Golf United Tournament reflects the incredible spirit of giving in Southern Nevada,” Rudd said. “Every participant, sponsor, and supporter plays a role in helping local families and individuals build brighter futures.”

Sponsors help make annual event possible
United Way of Southern Nevada credited several sponsors and partners for helping organize and support this year’s tournament. Presenting sponsor Del Taco led the effort alongside additional supporters including Aristocrat, NV State AFL-CIO, The Korte Company, and Rubin Brown.
Organizers said continued corporate support allows the nonprofit to expand community outreach and strengthen programs serving Southern Nevada families.
The Golf United Tournament has become one of the organization’s signature fundraising events and continues to attract support from businesses and local leaders across the Valley.

United Way continues long-standing community mission
United Way of Southern Nevada has served the region for more than 65 years. The organization focuses on improving quality of life through programs connected to education, housing, financial stability, and health services.
According to the nonprofit, all funds raised in Southern Nevada stay within the local community. These resources help create long-term opportunities for individuals and families working toward stability and self-sufficiency.
As fundraising events continue throughout the year, United Way leaders say partnerships with local businesses, donors, and volunteers remain critical to meeting growing community needs.
