LAS VEGAS — Some of the world’s best horse-and-rider teams will return to Las Vegas next week as The Run For A Million rides back into South Point Arena & Equestrian Center. The four-day event runs Aug. 12–15 and will feature more than $1 million in prize money, making it the richest competition in the history of reining.
The annual event has grown into one of the biggest celebrations of western performance horses in the United States. It attracts elite riders, top trainers and thousands of spectators who travel from around the world to watch the sport’s biggest stars compete.
This year’s competition promises another action-packed schedule with more than 90 events and activities taking place throughout the week.
Championship competition returns
The Million Dollar Competition remains the headline attraction.
Visitors will also enjoy several other premier events that showcase the skills of horse and rider.
Those competitions include the Cutting Horse Challenge, Cow Horse Challenge, Youth Reining Challenge, Rookie Challenges and the fan-favorite Race to the Slide.
Together, they highlight the athleticism, precision and partnership required in western performance horse competition.

Most daytime competitions remain free for spectators.
